IVF in the UK or abroad

Hi, can someone please tell me which is better based on experience and cost. Staying in the Uk or going abroad? I’m 42 years old, soon to be 43.

I live 15 mins from Stansted airport so easy for me to go abroad but not sure if the cost is worth the trip and stress.

I am looking to bank some embryos by doing back to back cycles.

I have found that some London clinic can be as expensive as £10,000 per cycle when you compare to €4000.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. xx

Hi there, I don’t have any experience of London clinics but I have recently used a clinic in Spain. It was not a stressful experience as I booked my accommodation and transfers to and from the airport with them as well. They were affiliated with my clinic in the UK so I was happy to go with them, I’m 44 and had four failed cycles in the UK using my own eggs. For the cycle in Spain I moved to DE. I am happy to pm you details if you would. People are not allowed to name specific clinic in public posts. 😀

We did 2x rounds of own egg IVF through the NHS with a private clinic in London. We got plenty of eggs but never made it to blastocyst.We decided to move to donor eggs. We went to a clinic in Brno, Czech Republic. It was €5000 and we got all of the eggs from our donor. It was significantly cheaper and faster than the UK.

There are/were direct flights with Ryanair from Stansted to Brno and Brno itself is really cheap.

Probably. We had to do two rounds but now have our babies. We were really impressed with them.

Congratulations that's great news. We were successful with our 6th embryo with them, she's now 11 wks old, I was impressed also and would recommend them to anyone

Hey Winniep,I have had success with a clinic in the Czech Republic and we useto fly from Stanstead into Brno where the clinic was based, I would recommend them and found it to be cheaper than the UK and to be honest I felt more relaxed going away because it felt like a mini break, however the majority of my treatments were pre COVID.
