Hey everyone- finally started stims yesterday for another fresh cycle in our quest for a sibling. Our last cycle ended in a miscarriage at 9weeks with our only embryo. I thought I was all ready to go again after delays getting booked in but when the lining scan yesterday morning was in the same room as I had been in in October hearing ‘there’s no heartbeat anymore’ it did knock me a little and made me think ‘are you mad doing this again?!’🤪the nurses were so lovely though 💜
Anyways lining was thin enough, lots of little plus sized follicles on each ovary as well so that’s all I can ask for at this stage 👌🏻 so maximum dose of menopur and gonal F has began! So this 42 year old is pumped full of drug and ready to go 💪🏼 anyone else started or starting soon too? Be nice to chat and keep each other sane 🥰

Hi! I am starting stims next Tuesday. Currently in down regulation. This is our first cycle! 36 years old with stage 4 endo. Husband has low mobility and morphology.... though I am hoping this has changed as I have him on soo many different supplements (like myself) to try to improve our odds! 😆 Good luck on your cycle! We have got this 💪
We're on the quest for a sibling too - although we had 5 frosties left over from our last cycle and last week had a BFN from transfer number 2....
We have 3 left in the freezer and won't be doing any more fresh cycles but gearing up for transfer number 3 - possibly around a similar time to you with your fresh one!
Oh I’m so sorry about your negative but great you have some ready made to go again 🤗 I’m terrified we don’t get any for transfer this time but hopefully we will both have a wee embryo on board very soon! Xx
awww good luck Twiglet! I’m 43 and my partner is of the opinion we shouldn’t have another child (cost of living etc etc) and he has no desire. So I’m excited for you in your journey watching from the sidelines. I have everything crossed for you 🤞
Thank you so much that means a lot to me! I hear ya- kids do cost a lot of money but I just feel too much desire to give our wee guy a sibling to give up just yet… I’m probably a bit crazy I know! Xx
awww good luck, Twiglet!! You are amazing and incredibly strong!! We are on the quest for a sibling too and have one last embryo to transfer and that will be the end of our journey. My doctor wants me to repeat EMMA and ALICE before the FET, so we are waiting for my period to come. Fingers, toes and everything crossed for you! Xxx
Oh best of luck for your wee embryo 💜 that’s good you will have the timing spot on then. Thank you for the fingers and toes 🤞🏽 I have a feeling I will need all the luck going xx
hey, oh well done and great you can get started again. I’m in the middle of stims for our last fresh cycle - doing a shorter protocol this time so egg collection probably next week. Keep me posted and thinking of you! (Totally understand the “am I really doing this again?!”thoughts now that I’m in it again) xx
Thank you I eat the seeds but can’t stand the drink 🤣 my lining has luckily been one of the things I’ve never had an issue with (yet 🤪) it’s my egg quality that’s the issue these days so I’m pumped full of vitamins 💪🏼😂 xx
Hi Twiglet2 ! We are also just starting another fresh cycle on Saturday - in the hope for a little sibling! We had a biochemical pregnancy for our FET in Oct 2023, it was our only frostie! We had decided we were never doing another EC, but seeing that BFP gave me all the feels and hope again.. so getting bad news at viability scan was difficult! But it made me feel like I am not quite ready to stop here! So here we are again too! I just turned 39.
Edited: just read your full bio, I am so sorry for the losses you have had - such a difficult path to be on 🧡
Our stimulation is slightly different this time from our first round - probably because I am now older. But things seems to have changed for our clinic too. So I started Microgynon yesterday on cycle day 1. I don’t quite understand what this does, but felt I just need to trust them 🙏🧡 I think it is so they can control people’s cycles a little bit more. I was told I need to start stimulation on Saturday! Starting Meriofert initially, at a high dose of 450iu. Then changing to Meriofert and Gonal F on day 7. Noticed you are on two injections from the start. Do you take them at the same time? I need to call my clinic back to clarify that bit 😇
I have everything crossed for you that you respond well to medications and all the best with fertilisation!! We will be just a few days behind! 🤞🧡
Hey- oh that’s exciting we are defo in similar paths 🤗 I was the same getting so close last time made me have some more energy/hope/stubbornness to keep going again! I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through that emotional roller coaster too in October 😥💜
Yeah I am on menopur and gonal F the highest doses my clinic do (300 on gonal F and 150 menopur) right from the start both injections together, menopur is the natural version and gonal F the synthetic so they are just throwing everything at it to cover all bases as some people react better to one over the other. I was in the same last time too and triggered in day 7 of stims! My egg quality is much poorer now though so whilst I get quite a few fertilised I only have 1 or 2 make it to day 5 so I’m really worried I won’t even get 2 this time 😬😬 that’s the bit I’m most nervous about! How are you feeling about it all? Xx
Yes, I feel very similar to you. We were told last time my quality was not great. I think they said my eggs looked “grainy and greyish”.. whatever that means 😇🙈 taking the same vitamins, but was advised by the consultant to take Ubiquinol too this time. We had 8 fertilise the first time around, but only two made it to day 5. So no idea what will happen this time either! I am still a normal BMI, but heavier than I was first time around too! All that comfort chocolate eating when I need to calm down from being overstimulated 😂❤️ Starting on Meriofert, but then we do Gonal F 300IU and 150IU Meriofert from day 7. They don’t scan us until day 10… eek! Just got to hope this all goes well!
I’m 41, also trying for a sibling. Had miscarriage on first fresh transfer (5AB), then a FET (5AB) which was our amazing daughter then another miscarriage just before Christmas (4AA) with an FET💔. We have two embryos left (each 2BB) but I’m definitely feeling hesitant to jump straight back in to another transfer. Not sure I have enough follicles left to do another fresh round but will get some tests done to see if it’s worth doing and will definitely try with the Frosties we have left eventually.
Wishing you all the best. Let us know how you get on! ✨
I’m so sorry about your loss last year and hope your wee Frosties bring you a sibling soon! I seem to have enough follicles but it’s just the quality has really declined and I only make one or 2 embryos from 8-9 eggs per fresh round compared to the 6 embryos in my round that brought us our little guy! I was ready to give up with my eggs until we got so close last year with the miscarriage it feels like I need to keep going and I don’t really have the time to take the break my mind might like as I’ve none frozen. So here we are again 🫣🤪 xx
I really feel you on the time thing. I was lucky enough to get 5 embryos from 7 follicles at age 38...I've tried 3 embryos and have 2 left. Now I'm 41 with only 3 folicles left so probably not much point in me trying another fresh round but I'm going to test my FSH etc just to be 100% sure! What happened to your other 6 other embryos in the round that gave you your son? X
How do you know you have 3 follicles? I’ve never had that kind of test before starting I don’t think but my AMH is still decent so maybe they go of that at my clinic (they aren’t very thorough with some things!).
I had first egg collection at 37 (after 6 IUIs didn’t work) my son was the 4th embryo out of the 6 in our first round I had him at 39 (1st fresh was a negative, 2&3 were transferred together but was a misscariage) the 2 we had left I transferred as soon as we could after our little guy was born (the same year) but both were negatives.
since then I’ve did 4 fresh cycles the first one gave us 3 embryos so did get one frozen but the next 3 have all only resulted in fresh transfers of 1 or 2 embryos almost all of which have been chemicals or misscariages! It makes me realise even more just how much of a miracle our wee guy really is, finding that perfect little embryo and putting it back at the perfect time 💕💙 but it’s a a numbers game so hopefully if we keep going there will be another little miracle embryo that works 🤞🏽 xx
At my last scan to check my lining before the FET transfer I asked them to check my antral follicle count, they told me I had 3 left. 3 years ago when I was 38 and did my egg collection I had 8! I very luckily managed to get 5 embryos from only 8 follicles however only one embryo has worked so far. It really does make you realise how much of a miracle they are✨🤍
If your AMH is decent I don’t blame you for still trying, really hope you get there, it only takes 1!🙏xx
