So i'm currently 3DP5DT - absolutely trying to be positive but couldn't believe how quickly the egg numbers disappear.
My AMH is 5pmol so i was put on high dose of Meriofert and Ganerilix. On my day 8 scan they saw 10 follicles, 4 of which were at the right size - they advised me to trigger that evening then EC a few days later.
Retrieval day they got 6 eggs, 3 were mature, only 2 survived fertilization. Both grew well, on transfer day 5 there was an early blastocyst and the other had slowed down.
The blastocyst was transferred on Sunday. I got a phone call on Monday to say my second egg stopped growing. This has set me in a spiral of "what if my blast has stopped growing too". What a rollercoaster. (I had 3 x IUIs before this) (2 years ago i had 4 IUIs which resulted in my son)
Question:
Has anyone had a similar result or had a change of stims for the second round that allowed follicles grow a bit more consistently together?

Hi, if you have less than 2-3 embryos after fertilisation, consider doing double embryo transfer at day 3 next time as you its unlikely you will get 100% to day 5 ie blastocysts. My clinic says from day 3 they see 50% drop off.
I hope this helps.
Wishing you success - your blastocyst embryo is back where it belongs so enjoy your tww and look after yourself.
They suggested day 3 but they didn't realise i would have to get another a flight at short notice so said that Day 5 was fine. I had an idea that it was 50% drop off so was lucky one made it. They won't transfer 2 embryos due to my age and the risk of multiples.
I can’t help but I had 7 on the scan 4 retrieved, 3 mature and one fertilised. The one that fertilised slowed down and was only a morula on day 5. I will let you know if you like what happens as should be testing soon. Great that you had one blastocyst though. Fingers crossed
I have had 3 rounds of ivf and each round got a really good amount of eggs and ended up with one embryo! I am currently pregnant from our 3rd round that resulted in 1 embryo from 13 eggs.. it only takes one! This one embryo could be your lucky little one✨🤞🏻
They have changed my stims each time and always ended up with a similar amount of eggs and one embryo.. I know it disheartening but try and focus on the one you have got you’re not out yet!
hi, your story mirrors mine, 6 eggs retrieved, 3 mature, 2 fertilised 1 survived and we transferred on day 3, my LB is now 18 months old, it only takes one 🤞🏻🥹 wishing you all the best x
