My name is Laura and I've started my fertility journey about a year ago. My husband finally agreed (after me nagging him for a few years) only to find that I have a very low AMH from my age group.
So far we've failed two rounds, I'm going to be 40 in September and I'm feeling rather low about the whole situation. I have been lucky enough to have one remaining egg for FET next month. Please let me be a mummy at last.
How do you all cope with this? It is so damn tough... Our lives have been turned upside down. The food we eat, where we go, when we go, avoiding people who are drinking and likely to ask why we're not drinking. - I learned there's only so long you can hold it off for.
Let me know how you're all doing today, so glad I'm on here. We are not alone <3

It might help you to read the book it starts with the egg, some advice on things to avoid e.g. plastics, and some supplements you could consider to help egg quality. There is evidence dhea supplementation can increase amh levels in some women, but do be careful it raised my testosterone massively and I only took a small dose, so monitoring is essential. Healthy eating and excercise will also put you in good stead for ivf. Good luck and best wishes on your journey
Thank you for the advice Coffeeone! I started reading up on dhea, I am willing to try anything at the moment. What's a little bit more fur on the face haha! Thanks again
Hi Laura, we're so lucky to have this community to come back to every time we feel alone, I haven't been here long but it has helped me so much on this journey. Wishing you the best of luck next month 🤞🏼 x
Awww thank you hun, hopefully this is the one! Sometimes I find it difficult speaking to the people I know about so hopefully this will be a good little venting post. I wish you all the very best too <3 x
I genuinely hope that this cycle brings you success and joy. Remember to take care of yourself during this process—physically and emotionally.
You're absolutely right - you are not alone. There's a community here willing to lend an ear, share experiences, and encourage. Feel free to reach out whenever you need support or just want to share your thoughts.
Thank you so much <3 I am finding it very difficult to take care of myself - I'm not really sure how. Life is 100mph, we all need money, I'm working full time, renovating a property and attending uni too! Gosh, things don't happen by halves, do they? I am also sending you love and light on your journey. Also here if you need anything. So pleased to be on here xx
There is also a Support Group on our website you might find helpful fertilitynetworkuk.org then Access Support- Fertility groups then scroll to UK -Wide Groups and follow prompts to register " 40 and over group " next meeting 7th Feb via zoom at 7pm
hi , same situation , I have had two failed transfers . The first failed transfer you can shrug off as just bad luck but the second has really hit me hard and now I’m convinced there’s something really wrong with me after initially going to ivf with male factor . It takes over your life doesn’t it xx
Ahh I'm so sorry Natasha this will be the only FET I managed to get, hoping if this one doesn't work all the additional tablets will be making a difference some how. One day Natasha... One day. xx
