2nd Scan done

So I've been taking Gonal F at 225 since last Tuesday and I had my second scan today. There are three good follicles on each side, with a few smaller ones hanging around. They have kept me at the same dosage with another scan on Friday with planned egg collection on Monday. I was hoping there would be more, how many is a good amount? Should I be happy with that number? It seems low but I have no idea really. I'm started to get a bit nervous about egg collection, and the IVF, drug taking, no drinking when all I want is a glass of wine in the sun, having to go home to take drugs every night..... the whole thing is becoming slightly exhausting, I feel tired and achey all the time and all I want to do is eat chocolate which will only lead to more misery when I'm the size of a whale...haha, I have to laugh otherwise I'll cry. Anyway, thought I'd share and I've found it's help me know I'm not alone. xx

Sorry, should have said that i was on 225 but they increased my Gonal F to 275 on Monday.

I only had 9 follicles on my scans and on my egg collection they only managed to retrieve two. I’ve had ICSI and both eggs fertilised and I had my transfer last Saturday with day 5 blastocyst and my other egg was frozen so please don’t be disheartened on how many follicles there are - it only takes one egg ! I find out a week today 🤞Best of luck to you 🤞

I wonder why they couldn't collect all the eggs, did they give any reason? Good luck to you, they sound like good ones if they made it to Blastocyst and now ones frozen..... They must be fighters! Xx

They just said unfortunately we could only collect two eggs but please be positive as it only takes one. As you can imagine I was so upset but after I had the call 3 days later letting me know they were going to leave them to Day 5 as they were doing so well I realised that I had two great eggs, one for freezing and one being but bsck in! A friend of mine had 10 eggs collected and none fertilised! It really does only take one so stay positive! Wishing you all the luck in the world 🤞

It's all so up in the air isn't it, there's no rhyme or reason to any of this. Well, I've got a good feeling about your one, fingers crossed it's holding on and bedding down xx

Aw thank you! I really hope so! Best of luck to you, let me know how you get on and don’t stress about how many eggs they take out honestly - wish I had taken my own advice but a week today all will be revealed 🤞🤞🤞

I went for my first scan today, have 8 follicles on my right and 5 on my left, but only 2 larger ones, 1 on each. This is my first go so don’t know what to expect

It's our first time too, hopefully the little follicles get busy over the next few days. Ai think they say heat helps them? I think I've read that on here at one point. Maybe a hot water bottle to warm them up a bit would help our little follicles get busy. Good luck xx

Jeez, I don’t think I could cope with that. I had my thyroid removed in 2016 and my medication levels make me hot anyway 🙈

My clinic also said everything in moderation so I’m currently enjoying a glass of prosecco. They said if you’re relaxed, that helps 😁

I had 5 big ones and a few little ones at my scan, but they only got 1 egg. I was devastated. But that 1 egg fertilized with icsi and so I did a day 3 transfer. Im currently in the 2ww. So you just never know, numbers don't always equal good fertilisation rate. Good luck!
