When I was 15 (2008) I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma Disease and required chemotherapy. I was told it could impact on fertility with the chances being 50/50. I was asked to provide a sample but chose not to.
Now in my 30s I am trying for a baby with my partner. We’ve been trying for a year and although the NHS Website advises to try for two years my previous condition plays on my mind.
I’ve now had a sample of my sperm analysed and it came back as <2.0 x 10*6/ml. Due to the low count they were also unable to assess the motility and morphology.
I am to provide a further sample on the 18th January.
I am generally healthy, don’t smoke, drink socially but stopped once I got the above results on the 20th December 2023.
I have started taking Zinc tablets/Multi-vitamins/Vitamin D.
Is there any other advice that males have received to improve sperm count?
Thanks, JL.

Hi 👋 Sorry to hear this. I would say it’s good that you have referred yourselves now, it took us 3 years to get from our initial referral to our first implantation, it’s a tough road at first, but once you get to the treatment stage it’s so fast and officiant 🙂 Good luck in your journey 🍀 x
Wellman conception is worth a try. proceive is another good supplement. And a healthy lifestyle- exercise to boost testosterone and eat a healthy diet with loads of folate- leafy greens are great!Long hot baths are not advised. I want to wish you and your partner best of luck!
i am very sorry you going through this. Please start taking proceive max for men/ alpha lipoic acid/ and NAC they are good for dna fragmentations.,you can also take proxeed men. Ubiquinol solgar 200 mg
Omaga 3 / vitamin D high dose
Proxeed is really good for count and morphology and motility.
hi, I would recommend Jonathan Ramsey. He is fantastic with male fertility. He has done a few podcasts as well, one with big fat negative. He will actually find the cause of it all, and help you and give advice. Best thing we ever did. x
Hi Jonathan, I had Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 1995 and I get invited to attend a late effects clinic on the NHS, which included access to a fertility specialist for initial consultations about my fertility levels a few years ago. I was just wondering if you could access anything similar through the NHS? I have still had to pay for fertility treatment privately, but it speeded things up. I have experienced significant fertility problems as a result of chemotherapy unfortunately. I can’t comment on male infertility as I’m a woman but I empathise with your situation, as I’ve had very similar health problems. I wish you the best of luck. I would definitely speak to your GP as the first point of call.
Please look into proxeed plus for men - it is available on Amazon. It is pricey but worth it as it can significantly improve sperm count, motility and morphology. Good luck!
hi Jonathan - my partner had a very similar first set of results to you.
He cut out all caffeine, alcohol and generally improved diet, also had the Proceive sachets every day and it massively improved. I was always sceptical, but it definitely increases results x
Replying to this post a little late as only just seen it but my husband was tested and his results weren’t great pre IVF. He had 0% morphology and low motility so no sperm were the right shape to fertilise an egg. My nutritionist who I’ve been seeing for years put him on a diet and supplements and both then increased to normal range which assisted for our second egg retrieval and I’m now 37 weeks pregnant from our first transfer. I also listened to quite a lot of podcasts on this (big fat negative have a few episodes on male fertility).
Diet included a super extreme healthy diet organic food. Red meat once a week. Avoid pork. Avoid processed food, chocolate sugar. Fish twice a week. Plenty of fruit, veg and grains and nuts. A couple of Brazil nuts a day are great but he did eat a handful of mixed nuts a day. Tomatoes are very good for sperm also. A small amount of dairy- focused on sheep and goats not cows. No alcohol. No caffeine. Prior to this he are a normal balanced diet. Booze maybe twice a month with friends. Biscuits and chocolate a couple of times a month etc. So it’s not like he was unhealthy before but we just went super strict. Plenty of water.
Supplements included omega 3, wild nutrition male fertility, ubiqinol, Nac, alpha lipoid acid, vitamin d spray. Think that was it but happy to look it up for you if you message me.
We also removed plastic from everyday use so basically just changed our lunchboxes and water bottles to glass and cooking utensils. Also changed his boxers for loose ones and no hot showers.
He did this for about 4 months and it made such a change. He did so well and so proud of him and it paid off!
