8dp5dt FET - Brown discharge / spotting

After what has seemed to be the longest FET cycle EVER I am now not feeling very hopeful at all!

A week before I had my ET I had brown spotting which got worse and I ended up having a small bleed. I was convinced my ET would be cancelled. They did a scan and couldn't see where it had come from, so we went ahead. All has been fine until yesterday. I had very very light brown discharge, not much at all but on/off dullness ache a bit like AF.

Today the brown discharge is more and slightly darker...

I usually get this before my period is due so I am freaking out that it hasn't worked. I am too scared to take a test yet to see as I can't deal with a negative result and go to work!

Has anyone else experienced this with a FET? I never had it on my last two fresh cycles on which both I got a BFP (unfortunately both ended in a CP) I am wondering whether to take a third cyclogest? xx

Do take your medicine as long as there is any hope! Better safe than sorry ❤ I know so well what you're going through...

I will just continue with everything until my final result on Monday which is my OTD. Not holding out much hope but we will see! x

OTD?

OK. I'm not very into the jargon of IVF/TTC-communities, I must admit, but I have some help in online lists of common abbreviations (like this one: genea.com.au/blog/july-2014... ), but I couldn't find OTD there 😂 I have my OTD on Sunday, though...

yeah you do get used to it though! :) Good luck!! I will be testing on Sunday too xx

Actually I wanted to test today too... It's about on this dpt I've had my positive or slightly positive tests earlier, but as I didn't have more than two tests left from the other rounds I'll be an obedient girl and wait 'till the day the doctor told me: 16dpt... And then, if negative, a new test a couple of days later - still with medication... And if negative also then, quit medicine and wait for AF to come just as we're going to our summer house to start vacations 😜😜😜

You just gotta do what feels right! If its positive then fantastic! if not, then unwind and look forward to your summer house vacay!x

I would probably take another one if you have enough....if it was me! It could just be old blood from your previous bleed or implanation. Fingers crossed for you!xx

yeah that's what I am thinking to do...I have some left over from my last cycle! I will call the clinic today and check if there is any harm in taking more. Honestly, this really is a mind f'ck!!!xx

Hi, I also had dark brown spotting about 7 or 8 days after my FET. I freaked out and read everything on the topic until I couldn't take it any longer and I saw my Dr. Turns out it was implantation bleeding and it went away after 2 days. You're little guy might be burrowing his/her way into your uterus so don't lose hope. Just take progesterone to give him that extra padded layer of support. Good luck xo

Oh wow! I really hope this is the case for me too! Thank you for your message! I know what you mean about reading up way too much! I’ve googled pretty much everything! Nuts really as it can’t change the outcome!! Congratulations to you xx

Btw, what do you consider as the longest FET cycle ever? 😂

silverlini profile image
silverlini in reply tosun-and-rain

I literally feel like I’ve been taking injections and medication for 2 months now! Compared to my fresh cycle which is usually like 2 weeks!

Oh, but why? I have had my first FET in stimulated cycle now, and that was a couple of weeks with oestrogen patches and then adding the progesterone supply two days before the FET... I had a much longer protocol for my fresh cycle... That was with injections and stuff... Just as if it's the other way around with you...?

silverlini in reply tosun-and-rain

Oh I see! I guess cycles and protocols are different for everyone! Wish my FET was as quick as yours!

What matters is to succeed eventually ❤ Still hoping for you! Keep us posted!
