More brown spotting ten weeks

Hi all,

I posted a few weeks ago around 5 weeks pregnant that I was having some brown spotting. It cleared up by week 7 but I’m now ten weeks pregnant and it has come back.

I don’t have any pain and it is only when I wipe. Clinic keep telling me it is normal and to just monitor it but I am obviously worried. I should probably mention I do have a small haematoma as well.

I had a scan last week and baby measured fine at 9 weeks and was moving around like crazy so I know I need to try and relax but just wondered if anyone had any similar stories to put my mind at ease.

Currently trying to wait for my 12 week scan appointment to come through before booking another private scan as I know it’s recommended to try and have scans two weeks apart!

Thank you :)

Hi,This is what I had when I had a subchorionic haematoma and a small haematoma. NHS said it was fine and would clear up, but my private clinic put me on progesterone injections to 12 weeks. At my 12 week scan the haematoma's had cleared up, no more spotting and like you the baby was moving around a lot. I'm now 30 weeks and have a whole host of other issues to worry about. 🤪

From what people have told me, haematomas clear up on their own and can be caused by Aspirin which I stopped taking and then started again at 12 weeks. They do cause brown spotting, so it all sounds normal.

I hope that is helpful.

Thank you! I do think it is the haematoma causing it but it’s just so worrying in the first 12 weeks! I am still on all of my IVF meds just weaning off a few this week and more weaning next week.

I have my 12 week scan booked in now for week Thursday so going to hold off on having another scan until then where fingers crossed everything will be fine! Xx

Good luck. It felt like the longest time ever until the 12 week scan and then it goes really quickly. Take it easy and rest of you can.

Hey! I’ve been begging my midwives for progesterone and they are giving me a hard time about it, what “symptoms” were you having that had them approve it for you? The hematoma? Thank you !

Probably because you're so close to 12 weeks, that's when I came off it. Your body should be producing enough of it now. It wasn't the midwives who put me on progesterone injections, it was my private clinic and it's quite expensive. I was on it from 6 or 7 weeks and then came off at 11 weeks.

This was the same for me, I was on progesterone from before my transfer and then stayed on it until 13 weeks (last Saturday)
