Getting ready for FET

We have our FET scheduled for Thursday. They will transfer one embryo as per HEFA guidelines. Our treatment is under NHS, so we don't have the option of doing PGT-A. Current theory is that there is a 50% chance of getting an euploid embryo.

Are there tips or things we can do to help deal with disappointment? We are keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best, but also want to have set up support structures to handle failure. Hence reaching out to the community for tips or things that have helped them.

Any recommendations for my partner to consider as well?

good luck for Thursday!I’ve stopped letting my imagination run away with me and focus on one day at an time and that’s helped keep me a little calmer in the wait and to handle things if it doesn’t work out. I used to look up due dates it’ll it had worked and imagine how and when I would tell people! All of which added to my broken heart!!

I find having a ‘next steps’ plan if it doesn’t work helpful ie what treatment will you have next and when and booking some nice things to do after test day too that you couldn’t do if pregnant (in a non committal way in case you are) in your case it will be almost Christmas so I would be getting the baileys and Prosecco in for myself and hoping I don’t get to drink it! Best of luck to you for your Christmas miracle!! 🥰Xxx

Very best of luck! Try not to set expectations (easier set than done!), take it one day at a time and see it as part of a bigger journey. Every step brings you closer to knowing your body and to your end goal.

Hi! I went through cycles of failed IVF, like most of us have. A support system is really essential because the ups and downs can be really crazy. I have also learned that when you feel really down and tired, it'll pass. Sometimes you just need to go through it, but, also believe that it will pass. Wishing you the best of luck. Lots of baby dust. xx

Hi Mahi. Just wanted to wish you well and for success. Sensible diet with plenty of green veg and fruit to prevent constipation. Add water to that too.call medication as prescribed, plus multi vitamin, folic acid and vitamin D. Try not to overload the vitamins, as your poor liver has to sort a lot of them out. Don’t forget the pineapple core as this helps blood circulation and help prevent blood clotting. Good. Diane
