FET

Hi ladies

Well after a long weekend discussing what our options are we have decided to try fet with our one and only frozen embryo.

As it's our follow up on Thursday could anyone explain how fet works?

Are there injections and down Reg like the long protocol or not?

When will we be able to start?

Thanks holly x

Hi momma bear

Thank you I think we have to try fet first and give the little one a chance 😄

How's the 2ww going? I've just seen your post your doing so well you've only a week to go. 😄😄

Hang in there, stay strong and remember PUPO xx

I didn't get any frosties but I would definitely have given an FET a go first, I think it's not as stressful on your body from what I've read which can only be a good thing. Keep us updated on your progress :)

Thank you so much, it doesn't feel like it. I don't think I was prepared for it to be this hard. PUPO, PUPO, PUPO... you're right I tend to forget this. I talk to my 'embies' all the time but lately I think I'm just talking to my swollen fat belly hahaha x x x

Lol tell me about it!! My stomach is only just going back to normal now!!

Honestly the ten days we had to wait was really hard, I thought I'd work through it but my concentration levels were zero and it was ALL that I could think about!

Actually since our bfn it's still all I think about!!! Waiting these last 2 weeks for the follow up has been pretty tough too.

Hang in there and good luck xxx

Ohh and I forgot after our ET they told us we had one blasts frozen and said that was really good as only 60% or so get some to freeze so I'm clinging onto that fact and hoping that our second go is a success.

I'll keep you posted on what they decide on Thursday

I found FET much easier as you don't have the stimulation medication or EC. Just drugs to suppress your system and scans to check lining is the correct thickness. Your clinic will go through the treatment plan.

Hi pm27

Thank you. I have read about it online but wasn't sure just how long the process took. I guess they will go through it all with us on Thursday .

I started Buserelin on day 21 and FET 4 weeks later. I had to have additional drugs to get lining to an acceptable depth. But your timings might be different to mine.

Not had our fet yet but have had the Appt to discuss process. They gave us choice of down reg as with a fresh cycle, or working with own cycle and just having tablets - oestrogen first half of cycle and the usual progesterone pessaries after. We will be going without the down reg as buserelin made me feel rubbish. Think I've read of people doing it naturally without any drugs too. They will look at your circumstances and give you pros/cons of different protocols. Good luck xx

HI Anna

Thank you for getting back to me. I have seen the natural FET and the medicated FET as well so I will be asking for their opinions on both, I am not sure if they offer the natural FET however. I didn't mind the buserelin down reg just made me very tired but no other symptoms, however I am really in tune with my body (I don't even take paracetamol or anything) so I am hoping that the FET will be kinder and that my body will accept that compared to the fresh cycle.

All the very best of luck to you too :)

Holly xx
