Has anyone had a natural FET? I always assumed my next transfer would be medicated, but my clinic want to do a natural FET. As I have endo, I always thought a down reg followed by a medicated transfer would be the best option, but they don’t agree.
feeling a little unsure of their recommendation. Any advice, or experience would be greatly appreciated xxx
Hi there 😊 I've just had a natural FET I found it much gentler on my body than medicated. It just means more scans before ovulation and my clinic still give cyclogest after ovulation to help out.
I think it largely depends on your reason for needing IVF! Both of my tubes were blocked but otherwise everything looked normal - our first round was medicated ICSI and we had a chemical, the second we had a natural FET and have my perfect little 6 month old to show from it 🥰
I found it an absolute breeze in comparison emotionally and physically - I waited 3 months between (got married in that time!) and also was fortunate enough to have had the loveliest pregnancy too
They waited for me to start my period then I began twice daily ovulation testing on the date they gave me. Once it was positive I went in the same day for a scan to check my lining - all was good so they started me on progesterone pessaries for 5 days then had the embryo transfer!
Best of luck in your decision all fingers crossed 💕 x
It really does sound a breeze in comparison to egg collection and fresh transfer. I was always very inflamed and in pain after egg collection so I’m hopeful this will be much more gentle. I am also taking a 4 month break to get my self feeling confident and healthy again. Glad it worked well for you x x
Hello l. Can I ask if they tested your progesterone prior to the transfer
I’m doing a natural FET and all looks good.
I’ve had my LH surge today so will ovulate tomorrow and then transfer next Wednesday but they said I have to do a blood test Tuesday afternoon and if my progesterone is not above 40 they won’t transfer
That seems high and now I’m worried I won’t get to transfer.
