I've just had a failed fresh transfer and have one frozen embryo remaining.
My clinic want me to do a natural FET. This would involve me doing ovulation tests from cd10 and when I get a peak {solid smiley on clear blue} I ring the clinic. The embryo would be transferred 6 days later.
What worries me is that
A) there are no scans, not even to check my lining or that ovulation is occuring/has occured
B) no meds at all, not even after transfer.
C) no bloods, not even to check progesterone is at an optimum before transfer or if I may need a bit of progesterone help after transfer
I expressed my worries at my follow up and after much deliberating the nurse spoke to the consultant who said that I could do medicated.
Has anyone any experience in this? I'd LOVE to do natural but I want all the reassurances mentioned above. Any help would be appreciated. Most women that have done natural that I have spoke to get monitoring!

I had a natural cycle and it was so so much better than my medicated one (currently 7w4d!). However, I had 5 days of leterozole, about 3 scans and cyclogest after a low p4 tear after transfer up until 12 weeks? So unsure why you’ve been told you’re having nothing? Maybe ask if you can have a natural but still have those things?xxx
I asked if I could and she said it isn't their policy to do so. They're ringing me back tomorrow for a decision so I will push again. But it's looking like it'll have to be medicated. Which is a shame xx
Hey, I would agree natural FET is so much easier on your body and I would imagine much better for the embryo as well as it's a more natural environment. I have had 1 natural FET and I'm waiting for my period so I can do another one... I have scans to check my lining and I'll also be on progesterone. I would be anxious as well with no scans and no medication... I'd speak to the clinic and see if they can still do a natural transfer but with some additional support? Good luck xx
This sounds a bit unusual! I’ve just done a natural, was so much better than my Ivf-ICSI Cycle but had 3/4 scans, a trigger shot as they decided they didn’t want to risk missing my ovulation (as I hadn’t had a positive ovulation test by day 14, but knew my lining was thick enough) then a progesterone test on the day of transfer and then cyclogest every day until OTD.
I have had both medicated and natural FET cycles and I preferred the medicated ones. I did have scans on the natural one and they did end up triggering me as similar to Ladypii they didn't want to miss ovulation. I also had to take progesterone after ovulation. It seems strange they won't do any monitoring.
