Bleeding through stims and higher progesterone

Good morning All! I do aplogise for this long post :) But I am so grateful for this network and would like to share my story so far and ask if any of you had a similar experience. I had my first egg collection yesterday. My clinic called me this morning telling me that out of the 4 eggs collected, 3 were mature but only 2 fertilised. Will wait for more info. If everything goes well, I will get them PGTA tested (age 41).

I was really struggling during the stims phase. I was put on the short protocol - 375 ovaleap (AMH 7.2) and then from day 5, I was taking ganirelix. From day 5, I started to have pains in my uterus area (not ovaries) and was having brown discharge. On day 5, my uterine lining was good at 6.1. From day 5, the discharge/pain was getting worse. On day 8, my uterine lining shrank to only 2.5 and was told I probably had two hemorrhagic cysts on my left ovary. On day 10, my lining was 3.1. Then they tested the progesterone levels and it was high (10) so fresh transfer was cancelled. On day 12, I started to bleed, similar to period bleeding, until day 15, when I took the trigger shot. At that point, they could see about 7 follicles on the scan. The doctor, who did the egg collection yesterday, told me he didnt see the hemorrhagic cysts. I asked my clinic if they experienced something like this before and was told they didnt have any explanation. I am hoping someone on here had similar experience - period like bleeding for a few days and higher progesterone during the stims phase? I understand our bodies are delicate and these extra hormones can cause stress to the body. Unfortunately, the fertility clinic didnt do any scan or blood test before stims which I think would have helped (I had enquired about that before I started stims but was told it wasnt necessary). Thank you!

Hi! I've never seen this site before and I'm not even in the UK, but I just had to make an account and reply because I've been Googling like crazy trying to figure out what's happening to me and this is the very first post I've found that describes my same experience. I'm on day 7 of stims, progesterone is high, lining is thinning, and I've been lightly bleeding for days. It started as brown discharge but is now more like blood.

I don't have any explanations or insights, just trying to figure it out myself. My clinic hasn't given me any insight except to say I can assume that my fresh transfer will be canceled as well. I know this post was over a week ago -- I hope your embryos made it to PGTA testing.

Hi there! I have been thinking all day about you and whether I should share the outcome with you because you are still going through the stims phase. Everybody’s situation is a bit different so I dont want you to think the same awaits you as well. My two embryos made it to day 4 only and that’s when they started to deteriorate. But that was just my situation, it could have been the egg quality or the sperm quality or both or some unknown factors like inflammation caused by the hemarhogic cysts or something else which is uknown. I will take a break (moving house) but I am not giving up. I wish you all the best (I really mean it) and please try to relax - you cannot control things which are out of your control. The bleeding will stop, it is how your body reacts to the hormones. And I would love to hear updates from you about how your treatment is going, if you would like to share. Good luck!

Thanks for replying! This is my 5th cycle (I'm 40 with diminished ovarian reserve) and my embryos always arrest between day 3 and 5 so I feel that pain. Here's hoping that both of us can find that magic egg that goes all the way.
