I'm on day 13 of luteal-phase stims with 450 menopur, the first time doing a luteal-phase protocol. Maybe the follicles grow more slowly, I don't know? They are not quite ready yet but I have 9 follicles, the most I have ever had in a stim cycle. They are arund 13-17 mm at the moment I think. There is some literature that says luteal phase stims can be slightly better for women with egg quality issues.
But anyway, I'll be 43 NEXT WEEK and then it's illegal to do egg collection in my country. I can transfer embryos but I can't do egg collection. I wonder if any of these follicles will have an egg that can make it to embryo stage.
Has anyone done luteal phase stims?

Hey, I've not tried them, but in theory they seem a really good thing to try. Would be interested to see how you get on as I've just turned 43 and have quality issues too. What a awful rule for your country to have, as if anything changes on your birthday! The very best of luck to you. Hopefully you'll be able to bank some excellent embryos 🤞xx
This is actually a really good result. 9 follicles and good measurements too. With this protocol you normally stim for around 14 days . Yes it’s a bit slower but they advice this protocol is quality not quantity.
Hi, I haven't tried that protocol. But everything over 12mm has a chance of having an egg. They told me this, as I am prone to OHSS. The follicles that are 17 to 18 mm have the highest chance, but all from 12 mm (of course 12 mm, have less chance, but I know people, including me, that got an egg from a 12mm follicle) can have an egg and so they all are puntured in egg collection. 17-18 is just the "optimal" size that usually predicts more often that a mature egg is there.
