Just wondering if any of you have refused antibiotics during stims (not theatre) ? And if that was okay with your clinic?
I have endo & part of endo is having Candida. It’s taken me 5 years to restore my gut health and get rid of Candida due to overuse of antibiotics and I do not want to take them.
The clinic said they would check with the consultant. I don’t see the reason for them during stims (I’m told it’s in case you have any existing infections so that they get healthy eggs) but my view is they would be healthier without antibiotics as they wreak havoc with my body and my gut health.
During egg collection at theatre I don’t think I’d have a choice, but I refuse to take them for a week during stims I just don’t to be Sick all over again. I hate those things.

I wasn't given them during stims, had to take for 3 days after egg collection in case of infection but not before. That, plus anaesthetic, plus whatever the hell I had to take to calm OHSS really messed up my stomach for a couple of days
You should get them intravenously during egg collection yes. Giving them out during stims is madness to me. We all know how they can mess you up so surely only give them out when absolutely necessary
Hi Emmyeve. I rarely come across ladies having to have antibiotics during stims, unless they are poorly with some infection such as a urine infection. Hope all goes well for you. Diane
Thank you Diane. I have never had a UTI thankfully and have no other reason to take them. The nurse advised we always give plenty of antibiotics throughout the whole process. So strange to me that they hand them out like sweets. Thank you so much for your response. 😁
