Hi,

We are going to be doing our second cycle - FET in a few months time and been recommended to have a endometrial scratch, my partner is concerned due to infections and if its actually worth it.

Has anyone had this? Do you feel like it's needed, as only down as Amber on the traffic light system.

Hi Molly. There has been a lot of controversy re endometrial scratching. Have a look at the HFEA report on HFEA.co.uk hope the FET goes well. Don’t forget the pineapple core to ensure good blood flow and prevent clot formation. Good luck. Diane

Hello, after 2 failed transfer, for my third transfer I did endometrial scratch and PGT-a test and now I'm pregnant. I trully believed this helped me a lot . And personally I think doing PGT-a test it's such a good idea. Especially if you haven't tested your embrio before. So yes definitely I would do this one more time .

Hello Molly22kaci, I don’t know if it had any influence but our last transfer (with our worst graded embryo) was the first time I’d had it and I’m now 10 weeks pregnant. It is slightly uncomfortable at the time but after the procedure I felt fine. Best of luck with whatever you decide x

I also had it before my successful transfer, so hard to know if it contributed but doesn't seem to have done any harm.

Hi I had this done before my last transfer which was successful. I didn't get an infection the procedure is simple and quick like a smear test but a little painful when they do they actual scratch. You will have a bleed for a few hours but other than it was fine. I hope this helps.

Hi Molly21kaci, just wondering if you decided to have the scratch or not & if so what was your outcome/advice?

I'm just about to started our second FET after having a chemical during our first and have been recommended the scratch this time round and weighing up the options.

Hi, I am due to do a 2nd round in June and i have decided to do the scratch. I know there is any guarantee this will help, but I would regret not having this if it didn't work. I feel it gives you alittle more hope. I wish all the best for your second round, let me know how you get on. X

Hi :)

I had the ALICE/EMMA/ERA (which is the same procedure as a scratch) & got pregnant afterwards. Out of 9 FET it’s the only transfer that worked for us. Im going to try a scratch before our next transfer. Keen to hear how you get on so good luck xx
