Does anyone have any experience of this and did it help? I've read reports that it can increase success by 70%

Thanks in advance x

I had one for my first transfer of mild ivf and it worked but then failed. Didn’t have one for the second and it didn’t work (the embryos were poorer though, so it’s hard to compare!). I’m about to do my first donor egg transfer and having a scratch again start of September and transfer end of September, so will have to see!

Thanks for the reply. Im so heartbroken by my first failure that I'm looking at literally every option. I'm sure those before me have done the same too. I've got an appointment weds and I'm literally going to push them for anything to improve my chances. I'd really like to do a fresh cycle but I'm too impatient as it took an eternity last time to egg collection and then developed OHSS. I've two embryos left from my current cycle but after losing 10 of 13 of my fertilised eggs strongly considering ismi.

Wishing you every bit of success Orla with your next transfer xxx 🤗 🌈

Hi Jessy, my first fresh cycle failed so for my FET my consultant suggested doing the scratch. I've read mixed info about it, but I was happy to go ahead and do anything possible to help my chances. I got a BFP this time round. Its hard to know of the scratch made a difference but I'm glad I did it x

I really do think they help!! I had one with my first fresh transfer, but sadly that ended in a chemical! I didn’t have one with my fet and that was a negative!

I then had another with my second cycle (fresh transfer) and we got a bfp! Currently neatly 38 weeks pregnant xxx

Hi, I didn’t have one with my first 2 transfers, these resulted in bfn’s. I had one with my third transfer, this also resulted in a bfn.

Everyone is different. I probably wouldn’t have another one but it can’t hurt for you to try. Best of luck 🤞🏻 Xx

I had endo scratch in all my cycles except one . But that also gave me pregnancy, although miscarried later. But honestly I feel it’s not something which is 💯 helps . But I would definitely give it a try, if it’s d first time . Atleast you would have peace of mind that u did a few things to give yourself a better chance

Our clinic did a trial of whether endometrial scratches assisting with implantation and I asked for it when we attempted our first FET and they said they weren't offering it to people as the trial showed them it made no difference to outcomes... that's just one trial though and I know in America it's pretty much offered as standard...

Good luck with whatever you decide

I was recommended by my clinic to have it as standard, I read up a lot at the time and decided while it may not improve my chances in the end, it was unlikely to go any harm.

Here is the latest study on it, which suggests it doesn’t improve outcomes....remembryo.com/embryo-news-e...

Hello, I had one with my cycle. I found it to be awful and cried afterwards (so prepare yourself) but at that point I was willing to try anything. I also paid extra to have embro glu. Thankfully it worked for us and I now have 3 year old twin girls. The ivf journey is so hard but keep going hun. Me & my husband were told by our consultant that we had a very poor chance. Everything was against us (low egg count, endo, blocked tubes, low sperm count) and at 30, that was heartbreaking to hear but against all odds, it worked for us. THEN, 2.5 years later, I fell pregnant naturally. My miracle baby boy is now 6 months. Sending you so much love and luck xx

Hello, not sure if this helps, but I had the scratch as part of a trial for my first round of IVF with fresh embryo. I did get pregnant, but unfortunately it ended in miscarriage. I’ve had two FET cycles since without the scratch, one was negative and from the last one I am nearly 6 weeks pregnant xxx

I had a scratch for my third felt and it was unsuccessful. I was prepared to give anything a try. 🌸

Hi Jessy1280

I didn’t have the scratch for my first 2 cycles and the first was chemical and 2 was negative then I had the scratch with my FET and that was also a negative. I’m currently having tests down at Warwick university for NK Cells testing and the procedure is the scratch. I have to do it 2 cycles In a row but as long as I have my next ivf round within 3 months of the test then the scratch will still be ok for that round. So even though it didn’t work last time I’m still really keen to try it again. Like you say you will try anything at this stage and there’s definitely no harm. Good luck with it🤞 and let me know when you start as we could end up doing the round at the same time! Xx

I did one after my first without failed (30 weeks now). I have a thin lining so I think really made a difference. Also i really believe it helps your cervix get prepared for the catheter at transfer!! It certainly doesn’t have a negative impact so I say go for it!! XXX

I’m not an expert

However I’ve read the HFEA findings and there is not enough data to suggest it works or not works...

For me, I won’t do it as risks outweigh the data... infection is a small risk. The surgeries drugs etc etc etc

Everyone’s different, everyone’s body is different... just make a decision that suits your body and your beliefs. You have had your body longer than any specialist and can make the right decision.

Hard to say with me I have had it for 3 out of my 4 cycles of those had 3 transfers 2 of which were negative & last one chemical I get this included in my package and embryo glue so always have it, it’s not pleasant and the last one for me was quite uncomfortable but will probably have it again I say go for it it could help. Best of luck xx

I was told by my consultant, the scratch and glue together can help those with an implantation issue. She wouldn’t recommend for everyone or until after 2 or 3 failed attempts following ET with good blastocysts. I’ve tried it on my current cycle, on day 3 of stimms so fingers crossed. It’s my last NHS funded attempt so feel like I have to throw everything at it!!

Hi, my first round of IVF failed in May this year. Just about to go for my frozen cycle and should be having the transfer early September and have just opted in for the endometrial scratch and the embryo glue - I’m like you I’m going all in!

The scratch I’ve been told by my friend feels similar to very bad period pains but only lasts a a few seconds. My clinic also take cells to test for killers so that’s good!

Wishing you luck with whatever you do! Xx

Hi there - had an IUI after a hysteroscopy w polypectomy which was described to me as having possible "knock on" effects similar to endometrial scratch. No pregnancy. Then had a hysteroscopy w endometrial scratch after two failed FETs. Third FET was failed as well. Not to bring you down, just to give my experience. Hope it is somehow helpful.
