Really struggling today

Hi lovely ladies. So here goes my story. I tested my fsh last cycle on day 3 which came back to 82. Anyways this cycle I took letrozle 5mg. Baseline I had zero follicles. Then I had a positive opk. Then I went in for a scan had 4 follicles but sizes were small. Dr said have another scan 1 week later so which I did still 4 follicles and only slight improvement but not much. This cycle has been abandoned 😪. I feel like I didn't respond well as of high fsh. What do you think ladies? Any advice much appreciated x

Hi Mikkie

Sorry you are having a tough time

I'm afraid an FSH of 82 is quite high. I can see from your history - and I think we've spoken before - that you've been having follicles monitored and I think you've been trying for ovulation induction. Sorry if this is not right. For me, it looks like if the same thing has been repeated over the course of quite a long time, as you have said you are looking for advice if it were me I would be looking at next steps and other options x

Hello

I’m sorry you’ve had such a rollercoaster of a ride and now a disappointing outcome.

I’ve also been doing ovulation induction cycles with letrozole. I’ve had a few where I took exactly the same dose and my body responded differently each time - the Drs say it can be a bit random.

I totally get how frustrating it is hoping your body will react a certain way and then going through the anxiety of scans to see what follicles are doing. Personally I’m going to move on to IVF in the new year as I think it will be more likely to lead to success in a potentially shorter and more targeted way. I’m not sure if this is an option for you too?

Sending you hugs as I know how frustrating these letrozole cycles can be when your body doesn’t do what it should! X

Hi Millie. Well, by abandoning this cycle, you haven’t lost a round. So upsetting I, sure, but recover from this one, then discuss with your specialist what your next step will be. I shall e thinking of you and wish you well. Diane

Many thanks for your replies. I spoke to the Dr who said because I have high fsh that's probably why I didn't respond to letrozle. He going to give me the pill I think microgynon for 21 days and then repeat fsh day 2 of bleed and take it from there. I'm not sure if thus will work but we can only try I suppose x
