Hi Everyone, I have 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis and had laproscopy in 2021 and just a week back I had an MRI and my Dr suggested I should go for egg freezing and then laproscopy surgery and then embryo transfer .so I have a question i.e can I travel from my home to IVF clinic by car for 10days continuously for injection everyday?? The car journey duration will be 2 hours to fro journey.is it ok to travel daily by car after taking injections . My Dr told me that I should come for injection from day 2/3 of my periods for 10days and I heard they use gonodotrophins in injection are they steroids and do they have side effects??Sorry for the long post

TIA.

I’m sorry you have to go through this.

Why do you need to travel daily for the injections? Usually you do them yourself at home and just go in for scan (s). They’ll do training (often video at home also now) then your meds are delivered. They are very straightforward to do yourself.

They are not steroids in the classic sense and hormones usually minimal until maybe the end of stims when you can feel bloated because your ovaries have gone from less than almond size to grapefruit size within the space of 10 days.

Hi , thanks for the reply. I'm currently in India and Dr here in IVF clinic asked me to come everyday to clinic for injections and I'm worried if traveling by car will have an negative impact on egg collection final day. This is my first IVF cycle and I don't know what to expect. Will I feel tired after getting injections ?? Can I do my daily household works??.

Hi Chofu. You should be ok,but is there no way you can do the injections yourself? They do, here in the UK. It is not a steroid. Good luck. Diane
