IVF procedure and the vaccine
Hi Silvia, my clinic said it was advisable to have the vaccine 4 weeks before a transfer. But best to check with your consultant. I'm 11 weeks pregnant after my first vaccine and will have my 2nd at 13 weeks. xx
My best friend who is a nurse got the vaccine back in February. She is 42 and has been trying for a baby since she was 25 without success. She had 1 ivf baby 3 years ago and out of nowhere she got pregnant naturally after getting her Pfizer shots. I'm not saying vaccine helped her get pregnant but it definitely didn't hinder her reproductive system in any way. Try to ignore the conspiracy theories claiming vaccines cause infertility.
I know mine wasn't an IVF pregnancy but after a late loss & 2 early miscarriages I had my first Covid vaccination ( Pfizer ) 22nd May & saw my lh surge 1st June I conceived that cycle I'm now 17 weeks pregnant and I delayed my second vaccination until second trimester ( as most miscarriages are mostly first trimester and I didn't want to blame myself if it went wrong again) my baby is thriving. The vaccination should not impact on fertility & the RCOG are recommending ladies to vaccinate during and before IVF. I would advise to vaccinate to get protection especially if you fall pregnant 🤞🏻 The RCOG advise is for pregnant women to be vaccinated as it is safer than getting Covid in the last trimester where there is a risk of pre term labour and still birth and 1-10 pregnant women end up in intensive care unit. The Covid vaccination may even pass on antibodies to the unborn baby ( tho this not proven yet ) it's a tough decision that only you can decide what is best for you and I wish you the best with whatever you decide to do . Xx
I would go ahead and get the J&J shot (if you can find it) as soon as you can. Then it's one and done. The sooner the better. I've heard of so many pregnant women passing away of COVID right before they deliver. Be safe.
Hi! My clinic told me it is up to me. But they've said not to do it when you start the injections and everything because of the side effects which can be the same as having Covid and then you would have to stop the treatment. I decided not to do it not to interfere with my treatment. The dr was fine with it. At the end of the day it is up to you! And you can explain to work the situation. Goodluck! xxx
Hi I had my first vaccine while I was doing down regulation for our IVF cycle and my second at 10 weeks pregnant. I feel very glad I did xx
I had my first vaccine before my ivf round then my second vaccine at 4 weeks pregnant and everything has been fine. I would have preferred to have it later down the line but fortunately everything is ok and I’m now 10 weeks xxx
