Don't pay any attention to it. Each person is so different, each cycle is so different, you really cannot trust it.
I had 6 FETs during my treatment - each time I had completely different symptoms and each time I thought it had worked to start with, then googled it and then been convinced otherwise. Honestly symptoms mean so little - especially as you are on lots of different medication.
Ahh i know 🙄but honestly just having all my normal period symptoms for the last few days since transfer..so thinking if i just stop the meds my period will start.
Thank you and sorry you've been through 6..that must be tough. Yes am on lubion and pessaries so the Dr did say will give you period like feelings. But when you know your body it's hard to think it's the meds xx
congratulations on the successful one I don't remember my last transfer as was 2021 just remember i was down at the start due to other reasons. This time i've felt more positive and we were told the blast was hatching which was good x
Agree with Millbanks... every woman is different and every pregnancy is different. The fact is all the symptoms of working and not working are the same! You have to just wait and see unfortunately 💗💗 so hard to do but don't discount yourself before you've gotten through the 2ww and tested at the right time xx
Thank you for this. I know still a week to go and after having a few days of feeling happy, i don't want a week of worry so will try to keep doing things to keep me happy til OTD x
Best not to pay any attention to the rabbit hole - Google As previous post says everyone is different with regard to symptoms Eat well -drink plenty - keep busy Take any meds you have been given as directed
I'm sure that is not correct and definitely depends on what your "usual period symptoms" are, what drugs you are on and how you react to them on any given day. There is so much crossover between periods, pregnancy and fertility drugs in terms of side effects. Try not to write your chance off before you know for sure. And good luck!
Thank you am trying. Usual symptoms are dry mouth, lower back pain and tiredness generally only start few days before and day of the period then goes. I know can be meds as am on lubion this time and not had that before and of course they halt any period starting. Just so hard when you know you had a good transfer but it's not the end of the waiting xx
Back pain/back cramps can be a really positive sign as they can mean implantation, and tiredness is definitely common with Lubion. I find I get quite a few period like symptoms on Lubion (sore boobs, headache, cramps) that make no sense either for my period timing or success or no success. I know how difficult it is not to follow your intuition but fingers crossed you get a pleasant surprise! Good luck!
thank you for replying. no sore boob (but i never do) or headaches. had some twingy feelings in the ovary area. i'll have to wait till next week and just keep positive xx
For me the side affects of the meds were exactly the same as pre period pains. I had them even before transfer 😂There's no way of knowing whether it's worked yet - period symptoms can be a good sign.
congratulations No i'll keep the meds going until OTD just feel out already and that they just prolonging the period starting. You sound just like me though so I want to keep some hope there xx
Hi Melody79 , just wanted to say if I hadn't seen your post, I would have posted your exact question. I had my transfer 8 days ago. My period was due today and I'm pretty certain that the progesterone is the only thing holding it back. I still have a few more days until OTD but am pretty convinced I'm out. But I think if you're having period symptoms in the 3-4 days after transfer, that's a good sign (better than having them when your period is actually due). Anyway, fingers crossed for you, and do let us know how you get on x
Hi, well my period would have been due around 2 weeks ago if I wasn't doing the IVF but didn't have any symptoms then at all only after the transfer was done.
Wishing you all the best too. It does make you feel as though your are out x
I had 3 FETs and each time I felt the same - like the period was coming. First two failed but third one was successful and I didn’t feel any different to the first two. I also just KNEW it didn’t work but I was wrong. Honestly, you just don’t know until you find out.
Don’t overthink it. There are so many similarities between period and pregnancy symptoms. I felt my normal period symptoms after FET so was convinced it hadn’t worked but still had a positive pregnancy test. Fast forward to 9 weeks pregnant and I still don’t feel any different - still have my normal period symptoms but everything is looking good on early scan. Stay positive!! Xx
thank you and congratulations to you. TBH if i knew it worked i'd be happy to have the period symptoms 😂 just having them and not knowing you think the worst.
I know exactly how you feel! And we know better right! You know not to Google it, but it is so so hard! I go there almost daily 😂 Yesterday I had no symptoms during the day.. so felt bad about that. Then I got some lower tummy/back cramps in the evening, like mild period pains.. but then I worried that was my period. 🤣🫣 You just can’t win! This waiting is so difficult. We had our transfer 27/09, but my OTD is not until 10/10… just got to be patient and try stay positive! I have such a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the day! It is exhausting really, but keep reminding myself what will be will be.. out of my control and I just got to wait as we will know eventually! So just keeping hydrated, keeping active with walking and eating well! 🤞🧡
Wishing you all the best for your OTD!! Got everything crossed for you 🤞🧡
Thank you for this..I test the same say! I know today got nothing after an awful night of being hot and period feelings. Same..what will be will be and just have to keep going as if its worked and relax.
