Hi all,
My main question is has anyone gone ahead with a FET when they have had a small polyp on their lining and what was the outcome? If positive outcome was there any problems later down the line with the polyp.
Being offered 3 options, continue with the FET as it's smaller than the NICE guidelines, cancel the cycle and have a hystoscopy (no idea of the NHS wait but is just short of £3000 privately) or have another saline scan before starting pessaries to see if more can be seen.
More info for context
I've started my first FET after my fresh day 3 transfer failed.
To give background I had 3 IUIs last year and just before starting them it was seen that there were 2 polyps so I had an hystoscopy, it was very painful and a student nurse doing them so at the follow up scan with my clinic they could just see a little mark that they believed was scarring. 3 IUIs didn't work.
Went to a new clinic for IVF, explained about the scarring, no concerns until a few days before my egg collection was due, they thought it could be a polyp around 5.5mm and said as it's smaller than the 1cm that NICE recommend is removed I could go ahead with a transfer or do a freeze all and have a hysteroscopy. I went ahead with the egg collection and the consultant offered a saline scan to see if they could find out more from this to help make the decision of going ahead. The consultant was certain it was a fold so day 3 transfer completed but unfortunately failed.
Nothing more has been mentioned about the fold/polyp so I cancelled my NHS inital consult and have started a FET, currently day 12, not much has gone to plan but I've been okay and adapted. Tonight I've had a call from the consultant saying that there now looks to be a feeder vessel to this "mark" and slight change in shape and size so he thinks it could be a polyp, it's in exactly the same spot as before.
I'm frustrated at losing my place on NHS and the money involved but more than anything I'm frustrated about the energy and the motivation and planning my life, had I been told I needed the hystoscopy before the starting the FET I would have been annoyed but would have made plans and waited out the time... I'm right in the thick of the FET and it's just heartbreaking.
