Pregnant following FET but had bleeding any success stories?

Hi, i am hoping there might be a few stories that can help give me some hope at present.

I had my 6th FET and after the horrendous 2 WW & not feeling to hopeful on Wednesday the clinic called us to say im pregnant, hcg level 1265. Not even 4 hours later i started having bleeding. Started light then became heavy, red blood smallish clots on one occasion (sorry for tmi) then it settled to light brownish spotting. Im more concerned that i had cramping & pain on Wednesday evening. Everything has since settled but the clinic have said because im only around 5 weeks i need to wait 7 days & do a pregnancy test. The wait is killing me! I took a test this morning which said pregnant 1-2 weeks (according to clear blue this would be 2-3weeks pregnant) now im concerned the test is showing less weeks than i am & could this be because hcg levels have dropped?

sorry for the long post im just looking to see if there is any similar experiences, with 5years of ivf, 2 ivf cycles, 6 Fet (1 miscarriage, 4 failed & current pregnant but now unkown)

sorry you’re going through this, but it definitely doesn’t mean it’s over! I had bleeding with both my pregnancies and similar to what you’re describing and with my current pregnancy and it was all okay. Check my post history because a lot of people had similar with successful pregnancies. Hope all goes well with your scan in a week x

Thank you so much for replying. I checked your post history this was really reassuring. Im hoping for the best but the waiting is a killer! The discomfort/ pain i felt on Wednesday for the few hours i had bleeding is probably what has worried me the most but hopefully since it has now stopped there might still be hope.

Oh I know, I had a week and a half wait for my scan and it was so hard. I too had cramps and the blood was heavier than a normal period for me and I lost massive clumps/clots. I still can’t believe all that was going on and the baby was fine but there ya go. Another thing to hold on to is your hcg level is really solid, I had similar and my clinic said it’s a good sign. Are you able to get your hcg level tested before your scan? I had mine tested the day after my bleeding stopped and my levels were still high - it doesn’t completely rule out a miscarriage but it did reassure me.

My clinic told me they wouldn't do another blood test they just advised wait 7days & do a pregnancy test & if its still positive then id have a scan the week after. I wasn't to happy as i thought they could have at least tested my bloods again but i might ring my own doctors surgery & see if they would check my bloods. Hearing your story im hoping my situation has been similar to yours & everything will be ok.

Hmm that is annoying! It seems a lot of peoples clinics are very stingey with blood tests! If going to your GP for a blood test is an option I would totally do that. Hopefully that works out 🤞🏼

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and I started bleeding quite heavily on Friday (2 days after my viability scan which showed the baby was there and had a heart beat). The hospital scanned me again and apparently it was a blood sac that had burst. Apparently they are quite common after a FET. So definitely don't lose hope! I was convinced I was having a miscarriage on Friday. Good luck x

Hi, with my first FET a few years ago, I had some bleeding after my BFP. I was so upset and called the clinic who did my bloods and they were what they should be and I now have a 3 year old son. I think my bleeding was caused by the presseries as well. Sometimes it can be the medication. If you want your bloods repeated, you are the customer, call back and say you are not waiting a week, you want them done now.

I probably should have just made them do bloods for me as i am the one that would be paying for it. I also thought they might increase my progesterone but they didnt. I previously was on 3 cyclogest per day but with this clinic i am only on one lubion injection. So after i had bleeding i have started taking 2 cyclogest pessaries with my lubion injection. I had some left over from previous cycles not sure if thats a good idea but i heard you cant have too much progesterone as your body only takes what it needs.

I had quite heavy bleeds at 5 6 and 7 weeks and had private scans at 6 and 7 weeks which showed no obvious cause! I’m now 14 weeks and all is well. I would say stay away from clearblue digital they gave me so much worry. Try and do a private blood test through medichecks that’s the only thing that could put my mind at rest slightly x

Thanks for replying. I think tomorrow morning im going to call & request a blood test. I should be 6 weeks on Wednesday (if everything is ok) but clinic wont scan til 7 weeks. Feel like our whole life is spent waiting!

Are there any private scanning companies near you? I use hey baby. I was annoyed that my clinic wouldn’t scan me earlier I had to wait til 8 weeks! After the bleeding they told me to go to a&e which is ridiculous!

I’m so sorry I have been here and it’s such a worry! From my experience it can go either way and bleeding doesn’t always mean the worst but it also can. the clear blue digital was an indicator for me that things weren’t progressing as they should but as someone else mentioned they are VERY unreliable! Are your clinic going to do any more bloods at all? I would push for that if they arent as that’s a long time to be in limbo 😢

Unfortunately my clinic said no to bloods & to just do a test but im going to call tomorrow morning and see if i can get a blood test
