I forgot to mention I had interlipids second to last round too. Fertility consultant didn’t mention anything else. I’m based in the West Midlands and I don’t know a clinic that does the LIT procedure. Il look it up further afield. The 1st ivf round a nurse mentioned antibodies but I was still coming out of anaesthetia and I didn’t get to or think to ask what they meant .
Thank you for your response. I hope all is working out for you on your fertility path xx
The clinic we use in London does it and I know there are patients that come from abroad to use them for the immunology side of fertility, it might be worth having a look into for you (I will add that the immune treatment so far has cost as much as the ivf x
Thanks for the advice please DM me the clinic details I will look into them because I cannot find a clinic in the West Midlands that perform it. Or I haven’t asked in the right places xx
So sorry you're going through this. I have no advice but I will say that Brosens won't recommend the ERA at all. He said that every cycle was different and every embryo is different so it's hard to say you need to do it 'x days' earlier or later or whatever because the next cycle after the mock transfer cycle to do the ERA might be completely different. Some women of course have had success after it but I do wonder if that was just coincidence!
Rather frustrating to hear as I was tempted by it too (after 4 miscarriages and 2 ectopics) but it's a lot of money and I trust his opinion seeing as he is who he is so worth taking it on board.
Obvs you can still ask him/do it but don't expect him to recommend it! x
He’s great isn’t he? The fertility consultant at Coventry said the same, I guess they have to sing off the same hymn sheet. But she did say I can ask him if I need it. Thanks for your response xx
Hi Millbanks, I’ve never got far to freezing embryos. So I guess that’s out the picture (still hoping one day Il get one - one day). I tried intralipids and steroids second to last round and it’s been a BFN xx
Hi Anonymous. The only other thing you didn’t mention is whether your Fallopian tubes have been checked for blockage or scarring. If excess lubrication in the tubes cannot drain unto the pelvic area as it is supposed to, it can only leak into the womb. It is widely believed that if this happens, it could prevent a developing embryo from implanting. Apologies if this has been done. Good luck. Diane
Hi Diane, my right tube is blocked at the isthmus like completely blocked as in no hydrosalphinx. Left is normal. I cancelled a laparoscopy because the consultant said unless I need it for gynaecological reasons there’s no point in having one. Thank you for the advice xx
Hi there, I'm sorry about your experience so far. The other thing that might be worth looking into is infections testing with a Greek company. They look at infections using menstrual blood and your microbiome. It's worth checking your partner too. If you're interested I'll dm details as that was an eye opener as I found I had a couple of other genetic issues that cause clotting and being unable to process folic acid.
Hi Masief, thanks for your response. I was on clexane the last round and in on oral probiotics and the last month before collection il be on a month of vaginal probiotics. But please DM me the details I’ll look into it thanks xx
I also did the infections and microbiome test at the same place. Highly recommend it. In my case the results showed I had some infection so took a course of antibiotics to clear as well as vaginal probiotics.
The antibiotics wipe out any lactobacillus (good bacteria) in the microbiome so the testing place recommend probiotics (oral and vaginal) to rebuild the good bacteria. My clinic recommended 'Canesflor probiotics for vaginal use'. There are better ones around but Canesflor is easily available in the UK. There were 10 in a pack and my consultant advised to take one in the evening for 5 days, then 1 weekly.I took this alongside balance activ (an acid product which helps provide optimal ph levels to provide for lactobacillus). This wasn't recommended by the clinic but I done some reading on it so was happy to do anything to help get my lactobacillus levels up. I can send you the forum posts I read if you want. For the oral probiotic, the consultant also recommended optibac for women (purple one) and also bought Bio.Me Femme V which I read was highly rated.
The only thing to add is I have read some people can develop 'too much good bacteria', I can't remember the proper medical term, so I would only advise the vaginal probiotics if your lactobacillus levels are low or need to be addressed. Consultant mentioned optibac can be taken daily during pregnancy but with the vaginal probiotics I took the course and stopped before I retested. The results came good levels so I have taken one vaginal probiotic every 2-3 weeks now as I had leftovers.
