Hello

I just wondered if anyone could advise who previously had a Hysteroscopy there recovery time after operation?

the plan is to remove polys etc under general Anaesthetics.

I thought i would just need to be off for a day or 2 but been advised to take rest of week off and having it on a Tuesday, which I wondered if that was too much time off?any advice appreciated😊

Hello,

I’ve had two hysteroscopys , I didn’t find them too bad at all.

I think about two days, maybe 3 days.

Everybody is different though and depends on how you react to general anaesthetic . I do work from home so it depends on what you do for work.

Good luck x

Hi lovely,

I had one polyp removed but it was under sedation. Pretty sure I only had the following day off. It wasn't painful after.

xx

Hi IVFjourney. A straightforward hysteroscopy and biopsy 1-2 days. Any procedure such as polyp removal 2-3 days, that’s my thoughts. Good luck. Diane

Hi Diane, would it be ok to ask your opinion on Hysteroscopy for polyp removal with local anaesthetic? I’ve got it booked but wondering if I should change it and went for a GA? Thanks

Hi. You will be given a strong sedation, then local anaesthetic. They will check you out before proceeding, so try not to worry. Diane

I had mine under heavy sedation - same as egg collection. And I was fine by the next day. They probably just say longer as if you are under general anaesthetic that can take longer for some people to recover from - but not everyone.
