The ever annoying question but hear me out as i had my fair share of this journey 🥹
i used to be active here before the pandemic but after 7 years of infertility and 3 icsi rounds and 7 embryo transfer i took a break from online forums.
Embryo nr 8 worked and im a mom now of a beautiful boy. Still unreal and always very anxious.
Reason i write this is because this group was always the closest to my situation.
I wanted to ask.
If you ever felt pregnant on your own after ivf, did you take any drugs to support the pregnancy.
I was on progesterone aspirine and immune protocol on my successful round.
We also have male factor (less than 4milion)
I dont think im pregnant but have this pulling sensation sometimes and ic shows faint lines.
Thanks
P ❤️

Hi - I got pregnant after an IVF pregnancy. I was due to start a medicated FET that cycle (had all the drugs ready to go) when I tested positive. I wasn't under the care of the clinic as it was considered a natural pregnancy so I took the progesterone I had ready for my FET for a few weeks and badgered my GP to prescribe me my thyroid medicine (thyroxine - they were very hesitant as original prescription was from fertility clinic).
Thank you lovely Jane and congratulations! I have underactive thyroid too and previously my meds where increased. My levels were quite normal for last two years. Also after pregnancy the gp kept me on 150. If this progresses i will need to go to gp in the hope they will take it seriously this time. Last time had a private endo consultation just to have him increase my meds. Hope all is progressing well with you
So frustrating when you have to fight for your medication! I am on quite a low dose so I can see why the GP might not think it was needed but if you are on 150 then you clearly need the medication and they need to take any changes with being pregnant seriously.
Yes I have been pregnant twice naturally after my first ivf that was successful. I did not have any drugs to support the pregnancy. I wish you all the best xx
not me, but I have two friends who had natural pregnancies after having the first baby through IVF - funnily enough we did have this conversation and they didn’t take anything apart from prenatal vitamins.
Thank you so much for sharing McQueeny dear. Thats so good to know. There are equally as many sad stories online and once you are not u der care of private clinic your on your own. Xx❤️
I became pregnant last autumn after 4 unsuccessful IVF cycles. I was tempted to use up progesterone I has at home, but didn't. I just took pregnancy vitamins xx
hello, yes I fell pregnant after 2 failed transfers in Dec 2020 and used the progesterone for my upcoming FET plus prenatal tablets. I am currently also pregnant again but this time e just on prenatals x
Hi, I got pregnant naturally with my second baby after needing ICSI for my first. I used progesterone for the first 16 weeks of the pregnancy. Good luck! X
Congratulations Beechnut! Thats such a lovely story. Did you take it just in case or were you tested. Must have been piece of mind if thats a thing on this journey
I just got word from my clinic that i wont get any prescriptions as i am not an active patient. To think we spent thousands and thousands.
I was prescribed it from our EPU as had a history of miscarriage. It feels surreal after going through IVF to get no support from your clinic I total understand how you are feeling. I really hope your pregnancy is going well. It’s highly likely that your hormone levels are absolutely fine. You could always try the GP route of taking progesterone would help ease your worry x
just an update for someone reading this and looking for answers. I miscarried naturally at 6 weeks. It was wishful thinking that i could do it when it didnt happen in 7 years. Jumping on the ivf wagon again. X x
