I know we are not allowed to say specific names on here but I was wondering if those who have had donor treatment abroad could share how much they paid and how many eggs etc you got for that money? And what country? (Can pm actual name of clinic instead if want to)I'm just trying to find out price difference of costs here uk and abroad.
Not sure how I feel about the anonymous donor issue abroad yet so that's another thing but just like to know rough price differences between UK and Europe.
We live 2 hours away from nearest airport so wouldn't be the easiest abroad. Plus costs of flight, staying somewhere etc would it end up being roughly the same cost as UK?? 🤷♀️🤷♀️
How's it work abroad how many times do you have to go over?
I m not sure if going abroad I would find too stressful.
Thanks

Hi assuming this is for egg donor? As a general idea when you do egg donor abroad you have to go twice, once for any tests etc and then once the donor has had retrieval and embryos created to do a transfer (if using your partner's sperm then he has to be there at the retrieval or if able to freeze a sample during the first visit at an extra cost). Of course you can have any tests here and only go there for the transfer.
But every clinic is different and have their own ways.
Costs of travelling and staying over
I think places like Czech, North Cyprus are cheaper and you might find that even including all theses costs you're still saving comparing with UK prices.
The other thing is that in UK you are confident that clinics and donors are regulated. Not to say that in other countries it isn't but you don't know how to check.
Anonymous/ not Anonymous. My counselor said that these days with the dna test kits online someone can easily find others who share their dna.
My personal thoughts for my case are that it
might be better for the future child to have the option to know the donor's details if they choose to.
I’m about to start with donor eggs and we’ve chosen to stay in the UK. I feel very strongly about using only non- anonymous donation and I have reservations about women being paid for their eggs as well, so staying at home was the easy choice for me. I don’t think I could be doing with the hassle of going abroad when I live two hours from an airport either. All being well I should be starting my cycle in September and I only chose to go down this route in July!
Wishing you all the best for the start of treatment. Were you on a waiting list before July? There is an 18 month wait for donor eggs locally to me! If you're happy to privately message me the clinic name that you're using I would be very grateful.
In UK the package offered to me £9,000 for 5 embryos and £12,000 for 9 embryos but no guarantee of you will succeed or not. I did my treatment in Nicosia, it costed me €4,750 + €300 for scan and semen test. Medicine €800. Flight to Larnaca £400 and we stayed in Airbnb for 3 weeks for £590. The clinic pickup-drop off was free. I had double transfer and my girls were born in April, froze 3 eggs for €500 for one year. Hope this is helpful. I didn’t do in UK because of the costs and waiting time due to my ethnicity
