Donor Egg Treatment Abroad

Where do I start?! I'm so overwhelmed. I desperately want to stay in the UK but after our quote of about £12,000 (for icsi) all in... For egg sharing!!! I'm assuming abroad is a lot cheaper?! How much should I be looking to spend abroad? How on earth do I find the right clinic for us? Can you do fresh transfer abroad? Is it egg sharing abroad or your own donor? Any help would be hugely appreciated! Xxx

Where are you based? That’s really expensive! Mine was £8K, which was abroad but I was linked to UK hospital x

We were £6k in Greece. Look at the website Egg Donation Friends. It lets you compare clinics across countries against set criteria so you can evaluate against what’s important to you. Yes you can do fresh transfer but have to weigh up against the practicalities. Our clinic had the donor solely for you not shared but if shared would be cheaper I’m guessing. Good luck! x

Thanks so much. I only say fresh donor because I hear there's higher success rate than with frozen eggs. Xxx

That seems very expensive for just one cycle, even with donor eggs. Have you tried looking at different clinics to see if others are cheaper or getting a quite from somewhere like access fertility which might be as expensive but could give you some sort of refund if unsuccessful?

That does sound very pricy. Maybe contact some other U.K. clinics to compare? Going abroad is certainly cheaper but if I had a choice I personally would pay more to do it in the U.K just because it’s more convenient and if you’d like your child to be able to find out who their donor was then that’s a really big reason to stay in the U.K.
