Feeling overwhelmed

Does anyone else feel like they’re completely overwhelmed by everything?

This is my first ever post to something like this so I hope I make sense!

My husband and I are just starting to go through fertility treatments after trying for a baby since the beginning of 2022 but we don’t know what the actual problem is. I’ve been told I’ve probably got endometriosis and I’m on the waitlist for a laparoscopy but I’ve been told I can be waiting 6-9months on the NHS!

We’ve got to go for blood tests and my husband has got to go for another sperm test in the meantime but they can’t do anything else until I’ve had the laparoscopy. So we’re in limbo at the moment.

I have got a history of mental health issues too which don’t really help such as OCD and disordered eating, and I’m just starting to feel completely overwhelmed by everything!

On top of that, my cycle has become really irregular. I keep skipping cycles but then having random bleeding with no pain (when I’m very used to awful pain with endometriosis).

I’m just wondering whether anyone else feels the same/has experienced the same and whether it’s normal to feel like this.

This can be a very stressful time for you - just take it a step at a time And it is quite normal to feel like this Have you thought about joining a support group - take a look at our website fertilitynetwotkuk.org on main page click menu and select Access Support then scroll to Fertility Groups Keep talking to your OH Maybe think about some counselling also try bica.net[ British Infertility Counselling Association] This is not a free service but they are all specially trained in counselling couples with fertility issues

Thank you for your reply! I’m going to try and take it a day at a time cause I can’t keep thinking everything all the time. Oh thanks for that, I will have a look at the website for the support group. I have also been told about BICA but not had a look into it. Will definitely have a look at it now though.
