Donor egg experiences

Hi all, I've seen quite a lot of posts recently on donor eggs, etc. I just wanted to say that I'm happy to share my experience ( I did fresh donor egg abroad in Spain). Rather than trying to answer them all I thought I'd message and if anyone needs or wants any advice or has questions then feel free to drop me a direct message 💕

Hello, can you pls advise how did it go and which clinic did you go? We are travelling tomorrow in IB for a fresh transfer of DE and although they are adamant to transfer only one, I am not sure if thats the right thing. i want to increase the chances of pregnancy. Any advice you have perhaps if you knew things in advance what would you do differently? Thank you xoxoxo

I did a fresh DE transfer and was surprised that my embryologist said 2 - she was adamant due to my history. I had decided to go with their recommendation - both stuck but then I had vanishing twin syndrome, and one currently healthy 31 week pregnancy x

all I would've done differently is go to Spain earlier - I found it so helpful and really pushed my options forward. I did the guarantee programme which meant I had really good additional testing before I progressed.

I had the same thought, I asked my clinic and they recommended one. They said they would transfer two if i really wanted but I’d have to sign an additional consent form. I think the advice depends on your medical history and age. There were no contraindications for me eg previous c-section, but I weighed it up, and whilst I also wanted to increase the success chances, and quite liked the prospect of healthy twins, the risks that come with a twin pregnancy frightened me in terms of risks to baby’s health, so I opted for 1 this time. I think you will know what’s best for you, do your research and see how you feel in your gut
