Donor egg pregnancy

Hi this may sound like a silly question but do you get morning sickness with a donor egg pregnancy? Does you body produce any of the pregnancy hormones at all or do you rely purely on hormone medications? Sorry if I am sounding dumb 😅

Ask away! Are you talking about morning sickness? Some women get morning sickness, some don’t. Using a donor egg is pretty much the same as using your own egg, if the embryo implants your body will start releasing pregnancy hormones. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you will have any symptoms though. I think that is what you are after?

Hi, it’s going to be exactly as an own egg pregnancy with all the pros and cons of it 🤪 For example, I only had nausea at the beginning of month 3 but then I suffered from sciatica and carpal tunnel around month 7! I also had some food adversion (for salmon!!).

That’s good to know thank you. I had really bad morning sickness with my natural pregnancies so if I become pregnant with donor egg i will probably have it too 🥺xx

Yes your body starts to produce hormones with the embryo implants. You use fertility hormones up until about 9 or 12 weeks depending on your clinic but that is true when your doing IVF with your eggs too. The donor egg is treated no differently than if it was your own egg by the body. Tale it from me yes you do get morning sickness and other symptoms besides.
