So we found out at 10 weeks that our identical twins had died prob between 8-9 weeks. I opted for surgical management because it felt the least brutal.
I am now 9 days post-op and still bleeding. It's light bleeding and each morning when I wake up it appears to have stopped only for fresh bright red blood to make an appearance as soon as I start walking around. I had a very similar experience with my ectopic and I think it took about 6 weeks for the bleeding to stop. About 5 days post surgery I had cramping and passed a small clot, just wondering if there's still more to come or if they didn't manage to get it all in the surgery.
I don't really want to bother the EPU yet because they say bleeding can last up to 2 weeks. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance as psychologically, I really want this to stop asap.
Thanks x

I am really sorry for what you are going through. I also had a miscarriage of identical twins surgically managed. I didn’t bleed much but there was some pink for many weeks and it took a long time to have a negative test even though everything was removed. Just wanted to send you love and don’t feel you can’t call EPU if that would help you x
I was told the bleeding also lasts a few weeks, and they didn't say I need any follow up care. I'm currently 10 days post surgery for an embryo that died around 6 weeks, and still have fresh bleeding, though not heavy. I would look out for signs of infection, but I think bleeding is ok. If you are still concerned after 2 weeks, there is no harm in giving them a call. I know what you mean about wanting it to be over - that's also why I chose surgery. I wanted to feel like myself again, and to heal. I'm so sorry for your ordeal. It's my second loss, but losing two at once must be very hard. Be kind to yourself.
As 2nd post says watch for signs of infection ie temp -smelly discharge -cramps Should settle in couple of weeks but if still concerned get in touch with EPU for reassurance
