**sensitive** Missed Miscarriage - surgical management advice

Hi Ladies

I sadly lost my little bean at 10 weeks due to not growing as it should and had surgery to remove it last week. Should have been in there for half an hour and the procedure took 4 hours due to my cervix not playing ball. They did however scan me and said they managed to get it all out but since the surgery my boobs have been getting a lot sorer and much more full. Is this normal, how long did it take for peoples symptoms to subside or could it be a period due maybe.

Really concerned they’ve left some tissue behind, I really thought my boobs would start to go down as this was one of my main pregnancy symptoms (they pretty much doubled in size and hurt a lot) but still do 😞 and seem to be getting bigger.

Just looking for some people that have experience the same? Sorry it’s such a sensitive subject 💔 xx

Hi Sammy

When I had surgical management last year I had really uncomfortable boobs for a few days afterwards, they were really very sore. I read up and ended up buying some cabbage leaves as a home remedy and honestly this was so soothing. Just rip a cabbage leaf off and put it on the boob. It sounds a bit strange but for me it did ease the pain and swelling.

Thank you for your reply. My clinic called today and said exactly the same thing about the cabbage I’ve never heard of this before but I will definitely be trying it. Thank you xx

I know how horrible it is, you have the emotional impact and then this physical trauma too. The painful swollen boobs made me wail! They were really sore. So I truly empathise. I hope the cabbage leaves go some way to relieving the physical discomfort xx

As 1st post says uncomfortable boobs can last for a few days and try the cabbage leaves - it will sooth them . Keep an eye on your discharge - if anything left behind it would get heavier and become quite crampy . If still concerned get in touch with clinic/GP Sending you a big hug - take care

Thank you for your response. Yeh it’s been well over a week now and they seem to be getting bigger not shrinking so was a little concerned but after speaking with the clinic they have advised my hormones will be everywhere and it can take a few weeks so hopefully as you say they will start to subside soon. Thank you again xx

I’m so sorry for what you’ve bern through. It’s so so shit and upsetting. 😔 It took me around 2 months to not feel pregnant anymore in terms of breasts and tummy which seems like ages but it soon went quickly. I hope you’re ok - sending big hugs xxxx

Hey Gem, thank you so much and it’s been a horrible long journey and it’ still doesn’t seem quite real 😪 I’m sorry to hear you’ve gone through the same 💔😞 honestly it’s just heartbreaking. Reassuring to know I’m not alone with regards to symptoms still being there and to know it can take weeks if not months. It does send you loopy doesn’t it. I’ve starting bleeding this afternoon with strong stomach cramps, can a period come this soon or again can this be caused by the surgery. Xx

I am so sorry for your loss. Have you tried any pregnancy tests to see if the line is fading? That is the way I knew that I had retained tissue as I kept getting symptoms. After one of my miscarriage surgeries I got a period about 12 days after surgery and was told it was likely a period x

Thank you Daisy. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been through the same 😞I haven’t tried a pregnancy test but I think I’m now having a proper period which i find bizarre it happening that quickly but i know it can happen. But I will definitely do a test in a few days to be sure xx
