Endometrial thickness battle

Hi guys, me again going on about the thickness of my uterine lining!

I’ve been struggling to get up to a 7 and have had 3 cycles cancelled as I don’t seem to get past a 6/6.8. My most recent scan I was 6.4 and they are now doubling my dosage of progynova along with patches and buserelin. I’m feeling absolutely terrible on all the drugs (I’ve been on them for just under a month now) and am unable to work whilst on these drugs as my job requires me to be on my feet all day.

I’m starting to lose hope that this will ever happen for me and my husband, I feel like I’ve tried every trick in the book and every appointment I have it’s bad news. I feel like my body is failing me and just desperate to get to a point where I could potentially be implanted. Anyone have any advice? I’m taking vitamin E and drinking raspberry leaf tea as well as trying to keep as active as I can. Many thanks x

Hi! There are so many hurdles with IVF, aren't there. I am really sorry you are struggling. I drank lots of pomegranate juice for my second FET and had much thicker lining than with the first. I would like to think it helped. Very best of luck!

Hi sorry to hear this. I went through similar issues and found castor oil packs and fertility massage regualarly (you can do yourself) really helped. Lots of information about it online. I hope it helps.

Hi, during my second round my lining went from 9.2 on my baseline scan to 6.2 by scan 2 and I was feeling defeated as well. I asked the nurse if there was anything I can do to help it increase and she said no. Anyway I didn’t believe her so done some research and found that walking is very helpful so I done 10,000 steps and climbed a few flights of stairs (nothing too fast just normal pace), also drank plenty of water 3 litres a day. 2 days later at my Day 3 scan my lining increased back to 9.3. Can’t say for definite this was the trick but helped me.

Good luck - we like cooperative endometriums. Is your endometrium trilaminar?

I had this problem an I literally trebled my progynova which made me feel crappy but I was so determined I didn’t care… next scan my lining was perfect … implantation worked & I now have twin boys!! Best of luck xxxx

hello,

Just a quick one to say do not give up!! I know how you feel, the drugs are awful and can make you feel so groggy and bloated but it will be worth it. Please read my stories on here as I had multiple (5+) cycles cancelled due to thin lining and in the end we transferred on less than 7mm and I have a little boy and I'm currently 21 weeks pregnant. Thin lining is not everything and I have everything crossed for you xxxx

I tried the raspberry leaf tablets from Holland and barret, (I did this after collection till day before transfer) and every day after injection, (I did mine in late afternoons), I’d go to my local supermarket (25mins away) so gentle walking - no idea if this helped but wishing you all the best xxx

Hi! Sorry to hear you are struggling with thin lining. Just to give you some encouragement- I got pregnant with lining less than 5 mm. I tried everything vit E, acupuncture, castor oil packs, TENS on acupuncture points, L arginine, estrogen patches, trental, it never went above 5 mm but I guess the quality was ok as I managed to get pregnant. Good luck!

I always struggled to get my lining thick enough with medicated cycles - even with 12mg of progynova a day I just about got to 7.5/8mm.

Then we tried a natural cycle (ie. No estrogen, track natural ovulation ) and my lining was 10.5mm 💪 it’s very personal, and I’m not saying this would be true for everyone. But would be worth measuring your natural lining thickness in a non-treatment cycle to check what it does without the estrogen :) x

🤞🤞

just want to offer a bit of hope…I tried all the things to thicken my lining (viagra, acupuncture, anti inflammatory diet, fertility massage, vitamin E, L-arginine, yoga, castor oil packs, etc.) my lining never got higher than 5mm no matter what we did. In the end, my dr ok’d a transfer anyways just to try and I had a healthy successful pregnancy! Every body, dr, and situation is different , but might be worth talking to your dr to try a transfer if nothing is making your lining budge. Starting the process over again to try for #2 and facing the same issues again, so feel your pain.

hi,

Are you responding to the oestrogen tablets & patches? I unfortunately didn’t and looked for alternative options. There is a great FB group for thin lining with lots of advice. Good luck

hi everyone

Thank you all for all of your messages and encouragement. We finally got the news that we can transfer on the 20th at a thickness of 6.7mm. I’m nervous to say the least but I think this is the best my body can do and am glad that I can at least give this a go.

On to the next hurdle!
