I am about to have my second FET in about a weeks time. My first fresh embryo transfer and my first FET didn’t work so I was wondering what I can do to prepare my uterus for the transfer for a good chance of success?
I’m having treatment through the NHS so I haven’t had tests etc done and I have been taking pregnacare daily, but have read a lot about people using Cansflor and taking baby aspirin to help.
Has anyone had experience with this and had success after taking supplements etc?

2/3 of my transfers have been successful (one 15mo boy, 7w pregnant with second). What I think helped me was firstly vaginal progesterone rather than rectal (long history of progesterone issues causing bleeding in natural cycles), which helped prevent bleeding early, and also taking buscopan and vitamin E. Buscopan was to prevent excessive uterine spasms for a few days after transfer; there is low quality evidence in the literature it increases implantation success but taking for a few days was highly unlikely to affect anything negatively. Vitamin E there is quite a bit of evidence it improves blood flow to the endometrium. Again not much in the way of evidence for pregnancy success specifically, but anything helping uterine blood flow is not going to be a hindrance. Have a look at my profile for doses and timings.
I would also suggest having your vitamin D status checked if you haven’t already. I was borderline deficient for years before actually becoming a bit deficient. I now take 5,000iu a day most of the year unless I know I’ll get good sun exposure. 400iu, IMHO, is pissing in the wind for a lot of people in the UK. Also some professional organisations like the Endocrine Society says vit D levels for pregnancy should be at least 75 nmol/L, not the 50 recommended by the NHS for most of the population. Both my successful transfers also happened after taking much higher doses of vit D.
Who knows which if any of these factors above was the magic bullet, it may all have been luck, but they are at least all supported by at least a degree of research and scientifically sound conceptually, so I was happy with my choices trying them Xx
As we all know there is no magic combination....but I read a bit about blood flow, and on this transfer I have being walking a bit, as I have to work in an office I wanted to make. I think that I am pregnant but I have to wait until Tuesday.
So that it is my advice....I am not sure what medication they are telling you to take with the NHS, but progesterone seems to be quite standard
I’m a bit of a gym bunny so I’m hoping that helps. I used to do a lot of HIIT but I’ve stopped that just now as I’ve heard it’s not good for conception. Fingers crossed 🤞.

heya. As everyone says, there isn’t a ‘recipe’ for success. But canesflor and aspirin won’t hurt! So it’s worth a try. I took canesflor because my test showed low levels of the lactobacilli, and I’ve always taken aspirin with all transfers, most of which didn’t work, but 2 did (unless I was prescribed a different blood thinner like Clexane). So I would say go for it - it could help
(I do have one son - took aspirin for that transfer and till 12 weeks - and currently 7w with a second, and on Clexane ) x
Hi! Implantation is such a difficult question that no one really knows the answer to. Here is what I changed for my second transfer: I took canesflor and an oral probiotic, as well as baby aspirin. Baby aspirin is not entirely without possible negative consequences though - I developed a large haematoma at week 6 and was in "threatened miscarriage" with reduced movement until week 12. They told me haematomas are quite common in IVF with baby aspirin and I had to stop the aspirin immediately after they discovered it. The third and probably most important change was they literally doubled my progesterone. It was on the low side for my first transfer, so I insisted they tested it two days before the second one and on the day. It was on the low side on both occasions, so they literally doubled it compared to the amount I was taking for the first transfer. Good luck, I hope this is your lucky one!
