Suggestions for further testing

Hi all

Have been silently reading posts for sometime now.

Apologies for the long post in advance..

My story in short. Diagnosed with endometriosis and went through laproscopy in 2021. AMH significantly reduced. Was advised not to go for ivf with own eggs due to low AMH plus needed PGTA for a cardiac mutation I carry.

March 22, went for DE PGTA tested euploid embryo (Only 1 normal out of 5). Positive test but ended in blighted ovum as it did not progress.

Changed clinics, new donor, FET Jan 23.

Everything was fine until 12weeks and we were over the moon to hit the milestone, and that everything was planned for next few weeks in terms of scans and tests.

At a 16weeks scan couple of weeks back there was a bombshell dropped on us that the baby had an abnormal heart and it will need one or more surgeries and lifelong monitoring.

We are completely devastated as we choose the DE route to avoid any heart or other health issues I have and yet we are facing this. We are at a complete loss of ideas as to where to start next.

This is most likely heading towards a TFMR.

My question to you all is:

I'm increasingly feeling that there is something wrong in me that fetuses are not able to develop properly. Are there any tests any one can suggest I could look into?

We would be giving one last try with the frozen embryo and hence wanted to do everything I can.

It cannot be an inherited genetic issue as husband and donor are normal karyotype and no genetic mutations from whole exome tests. It could be a random genetic issue which I cannot believe.

Any pointers much appreciated.

Love and baby dust to all.

No I haven't. Didnt think of it as due to having positive implantation. Would hysteroscopy help with identifying immune functions too?

Hi. No, just check womb out and biopsy of womb lining. Immune testing are blood tests. Diane

Vit D,Vit B12 and TSH are and were well within normal range.

NK cell markers is one thing I haven't done.

I just want to say I had to have a TFMR and understand how agonising making the "decision" can be. You are in a very difficult and heavy space right now and I can totally appreciate that with moving to DE AND doing PGTA testing you'd hope to avoid health issues as far as possible. I have a PGTA tested embryo frozen after my TFMR and can therefore empathise with wanting to do everything you can to maximise chances.

I have been doing some immune tests, did ERA EMMA and ALICE and had a hycosy as I never had one before my treatment started. In the past I've had a hysteroscopy and karyotype.

Thinking of you xx

Thank you for your message especially when you're yourself going through so much.

It's my second TFMR (both completely different scenarios).

I will be looking into immune testing but unsure how much treatment or tests my body will be able to take. I'm restrictions due to cardiac issues myself, let alone the fetus.

This time it's blown me away if I'm honest..

Xx
