there is no chance I’m pregnant, that I know so I’m just getting worried now. I had a missed miscarriage, spotted at 9 week scan but stopped growing at about 7 weeks. I miscarried naturally although it was painful and I had very heavy bleeding. I had a first period roughly on cue, although it was longer than normal, very light bleeding for the first two days then what I would call normal for two and light for the last. I’m normally 2-3 days all in. I’m now almost a week late for my second post miscarriage and I need to have a hysteroscopy, which I can’t book until my period starts. I’m 46 but have always been regular. Should I be worried?

late second period after missed miscarriage?
I am so sorry for your loss. I found my periods went really wonky after my MC's and took some time to settle into a routine - which was often a completely different cycle from the one pre-miscarriage. I also have just generally found that if I need my period to arrive for treatment etc it is always late. I personally wouldn't be too worried but you can always speak to you clinic just to check and they might scan you to check your lining etc x
thank you. I was hoping it would be straightforward with the first being roughly on cue and I could start again relatively quickly, but it never seems straightforward in this game. I have let the clinic know and am waiting for them to come back to me. It is reassuring though, to hear it from people who have been through the same. Although I wouldn’t wish that on anyone if that makes sense, but I guess on here collectively, people have pretty much experienced all.
When you want one, they stop when you don’t, they are there in full song.
Hi CXCYCZ. So sorry to hear about the miscarriage and hope you have plenty of support just now. Unfortunately it can take up to 3 periods to return to a cycle that is normal for you. Hope all soon is OK and you can get the hysteroscopy booked. Good luck! Diane
