Laparoscopy and biopsy results: chronic infection in uterus

Hi! recap: unexplained infertility 'diagnosed' a year ago followed by 6 months of hormonal treatments, 2xIUI, 3x IVF failed embryo transfer.

Finally did a Laparoscopy and results showed: 2nd stage of Endometriosis, also Adenomyosis, and chronic uterus infection (no known cause, no symptoms - apart from failed implantation).

I'm curious if there's anyone out there with a similar diagnosis and successful? of so what was your journey?

Thank you xxx

I’m sorry to read this Annbiel. I’ve no experience of these results I wondered if you had any symptoms at all or whether they were silent symptoms? Wish you all the best x

Hi! The only symptoms were my v painful & heavy periods, which everyone seemed to ignore. Then during the egg collection they found signs of endometriosis - which apparently doesn't necessarily impact the fertility. However, after 3 failed implantations we were like, okey something's defo wrong in there, let's do the laparoscopy and here we go... Thank you ! :)

Have you spoken to your fertility clinic yet? How do they see your journey going forward ? They should be able to guide you and answer any questions you have

Wishing you good luck for the future

Janet

Hi Annbiel. Well, now you have a diagnosis, they can get to grips with the infection, then perhaps tidy up your womb should that be needed following ?antibiotics. Hope all is soon sorted for you. Good luck! Diane

Hey, I had a test done in 2021 and they found that I had around 95% bad bacteria in uterus. The clinic gave me a few rounds of antibiotics and I take probiotics every day. A year later I had a hysteroscopy which showed 98% good bacteria now. I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terms when stating bacteria, it was something on those lines, but it went from bad to good by taking antibiotics and probiotics. I'm sure your clinic will guide you now. Wishing you the best of luck!
