Constant thin uterus lining and TShaped uterus

Hi. I’ve had constant issues with my lining and have had 2 ops to remove scarring. 6.7mm is the thickest it’s ever been. We have 2 frozen blastocysts waiting to be transferred (using donor eggs) but are in a catch 22. I’m on 3 estrogen patches, 6mg of progynova and aspirin...again! I’ve been reading about gel v patches - does anyone have any views? Also what about tamoxifen?

I tried pessary viagra a while back which didn’t have much of an impact. Have started acupuncture again but feel I’m now running out of options and maybe this just isn’t to be for us.

Hey, I've had issues with my lining for the last 2 FETs as well and both had to be canceled. On the first I was on 2mg of oestrogen three times a day then they upped and added patches after Day 10. Sadly it didn't do it's thing... Round 2 I was on 4mg three times a day and patches from Day 1 and again nothing... This round I am on Tamoxifen and 2mg 3 times a day - Friday is my first scan so I'll know more then. I'm also on aspirin, doing caster oil packs, drinking raspberry leaf tea and having acupuncture.

Have you tried a natural transfer? My very first round was a natural FET and I did OK with just patches added around Day 8, definitely better than any of these medicated rounds. Good luck! x

Thanks so much for replying, really useful. Stupid question but what do you mean by a natural transfer? I don't have periods really other than via medication.

I'd be really interested to hear how Friday goes! Good luck!! X

Hey, the idea of the natural cycle was for me to take no medication at all and then time the transfer after I'd ovulated. Didn't quite go to plan as I needed patches to give my lining a helping hand but other than that it was great! Not sure if it would work for you given your situation. I'll let you know how it goes on Friday! xx

Hey Rufus.

I feel your pain with the lining! I have now chosen to have a natural transfer so no meds, only progesterone after ovulation and it’s improved along with using some other natural remedies!

Mine on progynova only got to 5.8mm and natural it gets to 7mm prior to ovulation and extra progesterone. Might be worth thinking about? Xxx

Thank you. I don't have regular periods so don't think I can try a natural cycle? What other natural stuff do you do? Xx

I think as long as you ovulate you can? As it goes by ovulation, not your period as such.

I do castor oil packs, drink raspberry leaf tea, Brazil nuts, undiluted pomegranate juice, vitamin E, as well as pregnacare xxx

Never heard of the castor oil packs before. Have started with the raspberry tea and pregnacare. Just bought some Brazil nuts after reading your mail so thank you! Am going to try pomegranate plus beetroot too.

Will call my consultant tomorrow re natural cycle. Thank you so much xx

Hey Rufus, castor oil packs whether they make a difference or not, are so relaxing which I think is key in this process. They are basically a massage for the uterus. Order some pure castor oil from Amazon, a hot water bottle, a flannel and tea towel.

You soak the flannel in the oil - not so its dripping, just saturated & get comfortable. Put the flannel on your abdomen, place the tea towel/cotton cloth over it, then put hot water bottle on top and relaaaaaxxxx :) for about 40 mins or so. Don't use it while on period or if ovulating if trying naturally. The key thing is for the oil to heat up and for your abdomen to absorb it. I massage the oil left on my tum in to after too.

You can reuse the flannel up to 30 times if you put in fridge after - I put it in a sealable bag. Also its quite messy so I use bicarbonate of soda to wash the oil off with.

Good luck lovely :) xxx

Hi Rufus, I also struggled with a thin lining. My last 2 FETs have been cancelled due to it not getting thick enough. My last round I was on 12mg of proygnova and patches and it only got to 5.8mm. They’re finally reviewing my meds and I’m hoping to be starting a new cycle soon on different medication (though I can’t remember the name of it at the moment, but will write it down when I get my prescription).

I would also recommend doing castor oil packs. I do those, drink raspberry leaf tea and pomegranate juice as I’ve seen quite a few women comment that those have all helped to thicken and improve their linings. I also take vitamin E tablets as they help with your blood flow xx

Thank you. Sounds like I need to start on the castor oil and the vitamin E. Its such a nightmare and there doesn't seem to be any medical cure which is frustrating xx

I have lining issues too, bain of my life through this process....I also had an OP to remove scarring too! My protocol that seems to work for me is starting on a dose 8mg of progynova daily plus 1x100mcg estrogen patch every 48 hours from day 2. I then up my patches to 2 patches every 48hrs after a scan around day 8 of meds. I also take aspirin 75 (to help blood flow), vitamin E 1600iu (superdrug) and drink raspberry leaf tea. This gets me a lining over 7mm but not a really juicy thick lining but good enough for transfer. Also I had my best lining yet on scan and thickness wise doing meds on a back to back cycle (I was doing an ERA so had to be on meds) so we are going to do this again for my transfer, 2 cycles of estrogen and progesterone back to back but on a low dose (4mg of progynova daily) for the first month just to build it up in my system before going onto my normal high doses. I also started drinking raspberry tea (at least 2 cups a day and make sure its not just raspberry flavoured) which I think helps. I havent tried tamoxifen but I have heard it help some people and not others. Good luck.xx
