Blood results are in. Natural killer cells raised.

So after 2 failed cycles (3 failed transfers) we had the level 2 blood tests done. My nk cells are raised at 24 - we were told 15 or below is normal. Mixed feelings about this. Another hurdle alongside my low amh but maybe gives us some reason for failed implantation. Anyone else had raised levels on blood tests? How are your journeys going? I'm going to be having intra lipids and prednisalone next cycle in january and hoping this might do the trick! Xx

Hello xx I had two failed cycles on the NHS and a miscarriage. Private clinic did the test and mine too were over 20. I had the intralipid, prednisalone and clexane. I also took lubion as my progesterone levels were low. I had a successful cycle following all of my treatment and am currently 25.2 weeks pregnant with a baby girl xx

Thank you for your reply that's a really positive story! Good to hear this after all the news headlines from panarama! I trust our clinic and this feels like a positive move forward with our treatment. Fingers crossed it does the trick for us too xx

hi lianm8, at what point did you start on clexane? I'm high nk cells and have sticky blood syndrome and have been told to start on clexane from seeinb heartbeat at a six week scan, but wondered if I should be injecting it sooner? X

Hi baby2016, my clinic told me to inject from day after EC, as it's supposed to help implantation as it thins the blood so no clotting during the process which can hinder it. What point are you at now? X

I started from day of surge (I had a natural cycle) and took until 12 weeks everywhere seems to be different tho xx

Hi ana0908, I too had high NK cells I believe similar to you, had the expensive test done and have been on a course of intralipids and on the predisolone currently. It's my first ivf so let's see what happens, currently on my 2ww. I am also on the clexane from day after EC and they say continue until positive test then I think up to 9weeks.....hopefully we get that far. When I was in my clinic having the intralipid for the first time, I met a woman who was maybe early 30,s who said after 2 intralipids and then trying naturally she fell pregnant! So I definitely think there is something in this, esp for you if egg and sperm quality and all other factors are good. All the best. X

Thanks for your reply. Hope it does the trick for you. Good to hear about the natural pregnancy too! I do trust our clinic when they say they've seen positive results and just hoping it helps as will be our last try. Hope your 2ww isn't dragging too much for you and good luck for otd! Xx

Hi did you ask for the test for NK cells? Did you go to a private clinic and ask for the test to be done?

Thanks xx

Hi Mrsjj, I am only doing ivf through a private clinic and they suggested the test luckily. I'm not sure about anna0908?

Thank you I'm not going through Ivf (yet) but wondering if this test is worth requesting as nothing else on my other tests has flagged up as a problem. So difficult to know what to do for the best as I'd prefer not to pay for Ivf if it isn't necessary and can find where I may be having issues naturally.

Good luck with your next stages you must be very excited that everyday you are one day closer to what we are all wishing for xx

Which private clinic is it?

My clinic suggested the test after 3 failed embryo transfers. It's a pricey test - we were charged £1075, and I think it will be over £1000 for the medication. I think that is why they don't offer it straight away. All my rounds have been private as wasn't eligible for ivf in my area 😡. So hard to know what to do for the best xx
