Hi all, So I had my first scan for this cycle today (7th cycle of ivf overall). Nurse found 28 follicles on my left ovary and 16 on my right - so 44 eggs 🤪 I always produce alot, but the most I've had previously was my last cycle with 25 eggs collected.
I have a very high amh and pcos.
I'm wondering if I should do a freeze all cycle this time because of the risk of ohss?
Has anyone had a similar experience? Did you decide to freeze all or go with the embryo transfer?
I think my Clinic's policy is to not allow you to go ahead with the embryo transfer with that amount of eggs collected, but just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience?

Hi Noahsmummy, my clinics policy is that if 20 or more eggs are collected they will not do a fresh transfer due to risk of OHSS. I'm guessing with that amount you won't get a choice, your clinic will most likely freeze all. Good luck x
Hi! My clinic does a freeze all for anything above 17 follicles. I had 32 follicles collected and pushed for a fresh transfer. On the day it was supposed to take place, they discovered I had OHSS, so we did do a freeze all after all. Whilst this was hard at the time due to my expectations of having one fresh transfer, it was 100% the right thing to do. OHSS is bad enough when it's mild to moderate, a successful pregnancy is where it could get severe due to the doubling HCG. Plus taking a couple of months to let my body recover was very welcome. FET is much easier on the body. Good luck!
