No blood test to check progesterone levels before FET. Did your clinic also not test?

My clinic are not going to check my progesterone levels before FET, anyone else experience this? I guess it’s making me paranoid and wondering how and if it impacts success rates? Please share your experiences. Thanks x

hi , my clinic don’t offer progesterone checks either . Very frustrating !

I’ve now had 8 transfers so now looking for another clinic to do a collection and hopefully some transfers where they will offer this . I feel it’s something I need to be checked on after all my failed transfers

Will yours offer this as a paid extra ?

X

Hi I am going to ask them that very question today and insist that they check this for me and I can pay extra. I think we have to advocate for ourselves and push. Let’s see what happens 🤞🏽

Yep, definitely push for it to be checked, even if you have to pay the extra. X

no progesterone checks at my clinic either, I was bleeding before test date so asked about it and they said rather than test the would add lubion and that did resolve it tho xx

Neither my NHS or private one did as standard but I asked and both agreed to do it. My GP was also ok to do it (although many aren't) and you can get it done through private companies like medichecks. I've had it tested a lot!

My clinic don't do them as there isn't much evidence for checking. If levels are low they just increase your progesterone anyway so they tend to do that if you are worried xx

I have no idea of my levels as a starter as it was not tested at all by them.

My clinic doesn't do it routinely either but I insisted for both my FETs. With the first one, they did the test on the day of the transfer and the progesterone was low, so they increased my dose. For the second FET, I pushed to have the test two days before the FET and despite the higher dose of progesterone I was on, it was again on the lower side but we did have time to adjust it before the transfer and I think that really helped. Good luck! Progesterone testing is definitely a fight worth having. If they absolutely won't do it, you can also go privately with blue horizon or other such.

That is exactly my thinking that if low they can increase before FET and then retest mid 2ww if necessary. The boxing gloves are on!

standard process at mine for nhs and private - they’re a research clinic too so i would push for it even if you have to pay. Progesterone can impact transfer success and it 100% makes sense to monitor levels x
