I have been experiencing regular on/off spotting since I was pregnant, the colour is like coffee ground and small amount, only notice when after using toilet. however it really worries me.
My ivf clinic said I should be in Midwifery care but my first Midwifery appointment is not until January.
I did had another private scan last Sunday ( after an episode of spotting) everything was fine, they could see heart beats and both embryos are growing. They could not locate the reason for spotting.

Hi I had the same thing. No obvious cause and they concluded the old brown blood is probably from all the progesterone pessaries making everything very sensitive. Apparently as everything grows and stretches some small bleeding, which can exit as old blood, is nothing to worry about.
Easier said than done I know. I had brown blood and red, and she's now almost 2 years old
The hormone changes in early pregnancy increase the blood flow and make it more prone to the irritation from the pessaries - it should settle down If still concerned could call your local early pregnancy unit There is a forum similar to this one for Pregnancy support you might find helpful
It seems to be old oxidated blood. Unless it's bright red with cramping you should be ok. I had some spotting in the beginning of my pregnancy and it was from my cervix, from outside blood vessels bring very fragile
There will be 3 times the amount of blood running through the vessels in that area and the cervix is now very sensitive. Even sex may give you a bit of spotting, it's all harmless.
I hope the doctor gives you piece of mind. Stay strong ❤
Thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it.
I went to early pregnancy unit in my local hospital this morning and they gave me an ultrasound scan, the babies are doing fine with heart beats and growing the right size for their age. The doctor could not locate the cause of bleeding on the ultrasound.
I’ve historically bled through early pregnancy (1 still birth, 3 miscarriages) - I wouldn’t go more than a week without having a bleed or at least spotting. Im now 19 weeks on our 4th pregnancy and I had one bleed at 6 weeks and nothing since. This is the first time I’ve ever been directed to take daily aspirin and I thought exactly the same as you at first that it’s going to make things worse! I’ve taken it since the day we got our BFP though and very little bleeding! Xx
I am feeling really sad this morning after spoken to my mum on phone. She told me how easy was for her to be pregnant and gave birth to me when she was 24 years old, no complications. So easy.
Whist I was at the early pregnancy unit other day. There were full of pregnant women in their 40s with complications ( just like me ). I wish I started a family early 😢....
