Spotting changing colour

Up until this point any spotting I've had has been very dark brown. This morning I have some more reddish brown blood, looks fresher and it's making me panic. Our next monitoring scan is Monday morning and I don't see the point in going to A&E, they won't scan me. My question is can red blood ever have a good outcome?

I bled red a lot with my haemorrhage.. Huge gushes of bright red, one that lasted almost 4 days.. It freaked the hell out of me.. I just made sure to relax loads, reduce movements and drink plenty of water.. It’s the only thing I felt in control of..

How long has the red bleed been going on for?

I’m sorry your having to go through this, it proper sucks but unfortunately (for me and a friend who experienced it in her first pregnancy) they do have a tendency to bleed all sorts of colours..

It’s good you have a scan on Monday as that will give you a bit of reassurance.. Take care Xxx

Thank you so much, you've already made me feel calmer. The blood has only just started this morning and it's not accompanied by cramps yet. It's absolutely terrifying. It's so reassuring to hear others have been through it with a successful outcome. Thanks so much for your support x

No cramping is a good thing.. I had very minimal cramps that were just normal pregnancy ones..

It’s a horrible experience so my heart goes out to you but generally, from what I read (which was a lot of stories) the outcome is normally good.. My friend had a 7cm one from 8-16 weeks, her daughter is now 7.. Hang in there ❤️ Happy to give as much reassurance as I can do an hour more than welcome to pm me any time if you want/need xxx

Hope all goes well on Monday..

I had bright red blood, clots and cramps. I filled a pad within the hour which your always told isn’t a good sign but baby was there absolutely fine xx

I’ve had all sorts of colours from 5 days post transfer up until 8.5weeks so far- spotting/fresh red/brown/orangey/clots etc. It’s so horrible and tiring I really feel for you. My bleed has grown on the scans but the nurses don’t seem worried despite saying that I can expected more bleeding 🙈.

Great that you have a scan on Monday for reassurance.

I’d try and rest up all weekend (that was the advice I was given). I bought some jigsaw puzzles and have been doing a lot the past few months! There are some good new Netflix series out too. Sending you lots of hugs and hang on in there xxx

Thanks all! I feel much calmer and really reassured by all your experiences. The bleeding doesn't seem to be getting heavier so I think I'm ok 🤞🏻

Hey I’ve had 2 lots of bright red blood and clots with my SCH and all is still ok (scan yesterday showed normal pregnancy at 7+6 🤞) It’s so so scary to see blood but if they’ve already seen it on your scan then it’s probably just coming out instead of being absorbed. Hope you can take some reassurance from these posts xx

Hope it's nothing serious - and you know there's the hematoma there so it's not necessarily anything to do with the pregnancy. Feet up and take it easy till Monday. I'm so sorry you're having another stressful weekend!!

I've got a busy weekend as well! It's my friends 30th tonight and I just can't miss that so I'm going to go and just take it easy x

Red blood is no more ominous than brown blood. Bleeding during pregnancy is very common. Unless you’re having terrible pain you are almost certainly just experiencing your uterus stretching and growing (and sometimes tearing and bleeding a bit), trying to keep up with itself. It’s natural to worry, but red blood has no ominous significance as far as I am aware. Hang in there!

Hey lovely, try and not panic everyone I know has all had bleeding at some point during their pregnancy and they have all gone on to having healthy baby's. I think when you see blood it just makes you panic, hope your feeling better and glad your not getting cramps either. Good luck with scan tomorrow will be thinking of you, xx
