Hi lovely, if itās brown blood it could just be your uterus getting comfy and shedding what it doesnāt need. In general if itās not red or painful then it shouldnāt be a problem.
I had a similar bleed at 17 weeks and it started like my period also (which scared me so much) but it was a subchorionic haematoma. No idea where it came from but I bled for nearly 4 weeks and the baby was fine. I know itās really worrying but try and get a scan booked in today if you can just to reassure you. I had some private scans for this very reason xx
Thank you! Was it brown or red blood you was bleeding for 4 weeks?
I've just gone to A&E they booked me a scan for 12pm, I'm so scared š
Donāt panic too much.. the bleeding is supposed to be quite normal. Hold your nerve.. ziām crossing fingers for you. Good luck!
Thank you x
Agree with the previous reply. I spotted and bled from the time I came off progesterone and it's been going on for about two months now. I always have spotting before my period so I was worried. Midwives said it's common in the first trimester in particular and to only get back in contact if it went red or there was a lot - that did actually happen from time to time and it had gone way into the second trimester. I had various private and then NHS scans which showed everything was ok and finally investigations - they're not entirely sure why it's happening but it's from something on my cervix which could be endo, could be just it's prone to it and the massive hormone shifts and pressure/extra blood flow to that area is causing it. The main thing is the little one is absolutely fine and they don't think there's anything to worry about there. They said I could go back on progesterone if it made me feel better and they will continue to monitor it. I'm glad I got it checked and found a reason for it.
Thank you!! I have a scan booked for 12pm it's terrifying!!
It is and as helpful as the midwives were, I was finding it a bit difficult to just accept it was normal when it had gone on for so long and was obviously linked to progesterone. The scans really helped and if it carries on or gets worse, you could call or go to your EPU just in case.
Hi Lilly,Iāve just pretty much posted the same message. Iāve been told it is totally normal and ok if the bleeding does not increase and is not painfulā¦. but it is a very nervy situation! I am wondering what the difference between discomfort and pain is as I have some period pain type feelings as well which subsided as I lied down
I had this too at around 5 weeks!! I was terrified! Only little bits when I wiped and was light lasted around 3 hours and then went away. I really thought my period was starting because I had period cramps too and like you said that's normally how I start too. I rang OOH doctor at my clinic and they said it didn't sound like anything to be concerned about and when I woke a few hours later for a wee it had gone and its been month since that happened and nothing since. My doctor said sometimes the pessaries can cause a little irritation inside and your cervix is more sensitive too so sex could also cause you to spot too.
Keeping my fingers crossed will go away for you!! šš xx
