Can you give names of best fertility supplements for women prior to egg retrieval and men to improve sperm DNA fragmentation?

my clinic gave us an extensive list, but here’s what I think is most useful from what it suggested:

Men:

Impryl, selenium, zinc, vit D

Women:

Methyl folate, Coq10, vit D + prenatal vitamins

Obviously after transfer it should only be the prenatal vitamins.

Hi,

Impryl for sperm & bio quinine (coQ10) for egg health & methyl folate.

Best of luck!

My clinic recommended 300mg of coenzyme q10 3 x times a day for both of us as there is some evidence it can improve follicle numbers, egg quality and sperm quality. Also prenatal vitamins we used pregnacare his and hers trying to conceive. Good luck x

900 mg each then?

Yes and to start taking 3 months before starting a cycle for it work best. 300mg taken with each meal and both follow a healthy diet. We started taking it after our second failed cycle had a few months gap before starting our third cycle which was our most successful cycle.

hi there, I can’t talk for sperm health as we used donor sperm, but ahead of my egg collection I used Zita West ‘egg health’ supplementation pack. It’s got all things mentioned above and loads more. It is pricey at £130ish a month but very worth it in my experience. I took it religiously leading up to my egg collection as I’m 38. In the end I got 9 good blasts for transfer and freezing from 13 eggs collected. They also do supplements for men, so may be worth a look!

Best of luck!

Xx

hi. Three months before our second round we took proxeed for men, and i had ubiquionol (bioactive form of coq10) and proceive women (incl. methylfolate-bioactive form of folic acid). Our results were way better with four good quality freezable embryos (compared to 2 average in first round). I had a chemical from the first transfer of the second round, and am 13 weeks pregnant from the second transfer. Id recommend reading it starts with an egg - helped us a lot xx

Hi Blueberry211! Our clinic recommended Proxeed for men and women respectively. We also took Ubiquinol, Vitamin D spray and probiotics. Very best of luck! xx

I don’t know if it actually helped but I took bee pollen religiously all through my treatment and got pregnant 1st time at 41 - it was something I was advised by someone else who had been through IVF who said it worked for them too - worth a try 🤞

How long did you take bee-pollen?

the whole way through the treatment and pregnancy tbh - I had a couple of spoonfuls in my porridge or smoothie every day
