Has anyone experienced vaginal irritation using either utrogestan or cyclogest? I know it can be a side effect and I am now using them rectally. I also take Lubion
I noticed that after a few weeks of using them, they seemed to cause some light, watery red/pink blood when I urinated and wiped.
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and noticed when I stopped them vaginally the blood went. I then used one vaginally last night and it returned and I am hoping this is a coincidence.
I am wondering if anyone else has and a similar experience?

I had bleeding from weeks 4-7 of pinky mainly brown blood (two red bleeds too) which the hospital put down to irritation. I had scans at 6 and 8 weeks with no concerns and no sign of issues in the womb. I had this most days.
Midwife told me that your cervix is just more sensitive esp if you are someone already prone to bleeding (mine likes bleeding).
Best of luck but EPU are incredibly reassuring if you call them. They see bleeding a lot!
yup i switched to cyclogest rectal from utrogestan at 7 weeks for the same reason. That being said they cause other issues for me this way so i can’t wait to stop them!
Same here. Asked the pharmacy about using some haemorrhoid cream due to blood and pain from constipation and she didn’t recommend it without a GP appointment. Hope you are doing well now! X
Yes! Can totally relate to the irritation from Cyclogest. My clinic have just changed me to Lubion twice a day instead of Cyclogest because the pessaries had burnt my skin. My transfer was really painful because of the skin irritation and the nurses made the decision to change to injections to allow the skin to heal. Could you maybe ask if you could increase Lubion instead of using Cyclogest?
