Progesterone Pessary and thrush?

TMI warning!!

Did anyone else get thrush from the progesterone pessary? I’m starting to get really itchy!! And sometimes the pessary kinda stings. I’m worried I’m a bit allergic to it, and that can’t be good!

My doc told me to take canestan pessary for one night only ...but not the cream. But it’s the outside that’s itchy!

Can’t believe I’m writing this on a forum but I am!

Which progesterone are you on? Crinone or cyclogest? If it’s cyclogest you can use it rectally instead which should help!

The canestan pessary will clear up the thrush, the cream just soothes the symptoms xx

Yes cyclogest. I started doing that....but I also gave very bad constipation and bloating from it so was trying to switch it up!

Oh dear, it normally gives the opposite of constipation 😳😂

Have you recently had your egg collection? I normally get some constipation after that but it does after a few days xx

Actually my egg collection was months ago, this progesterone is following at FET. But I’m on lubion progesterone shots AM & PM and lentogest progesterone every 3 days and cyclogest progesterone pessary AM & PM so it’s a lot!

Ahhh ok! I completely feel you, I’m on cyclogest x 2 and lubion daily, been on them for nine weeks now and I’m so bloated it’s ridiculous!

Not suffered on the other front though, hopefully that will pass for you 🙏🏻 xz

Have you had your OTD yet?x

Does that mean pregnancy test? Yes, I had that a week ago. So far so good (fingers crossed!), after a very long journey of 8 yrs I can’t quite bring myself to celebrate yet, I feel like I’m sitting on my hands!

Congrats! ♥️

That’s totally normal, the more days pass, the easier it gets. I’m 11 weeks now and I’m a little more relaxed but still struggle. Do you have your scan booked?x

Not yet...it’s due at 8 weeks, so another 3 long weeks to wait! I thought the 2WW was bad but this feels just the same, praying it will stick!

I actually think the first scan wait is the hardest! But it’ll all be worth the wait in the end. If you ever need to talk/vent I’m always here x

Hi Winnie. Agree with KiboXX to take it rectally. It's not the nicest, but should give your your front a break and a chance to recover from the thrush symptoms. Hope you're feeling less itchy soon! xxx

Oh god yes and it's a symptom I was not expecting as it wasn't on the side effects info in the info paper. Cyclogest. It wasn't recommended to insert from behind for me only the front way.
