Good evening all

Though il just give an update. Hope everyone is well. Sorry for

The long post!!! But I feel like one gets to learn so much from this forum and is able to ask questions to the dr after explanations and experiences from people on this forum.

Have been on menopur 75UI * 4 for 4 days and *2 for 2days. Today I went for a scan and my right ovary came to the party with 4 eggs while the left one is sleeping.

Dr to his time to measure and the smallest is 13 and the biggest is 24 ( hope this is the right measurement).Told me to take the last dose of *2 75UI today while on progesterone 10mg per day and folic acid.

he made a time table which I think makes things easy. Long story short I was worried that 4 is little but he told me that other people don’t even get any so I took that as a win. He is comfortable to proceed with the retrieval as he had indicated on Thursday. So far I feel like atleast the nausea, bloating and terrible headaches were all worth it in the past 6 days.

from tomorrow Il take the progesterone and new injections which il take for 2 days (I think these are the shots) before Thursday.

He prescribed antibiotics that il start a day before the retrieval till the day after. Some pain meds post retrieval.

Dr mentioned that if all goes well then he will wait for the period which will happen a few days after retrieval and then put back the fertilised egg afterwards.

Iv been going through posts and Iv seen some people saying they went back for the transfer before period and I’m confused as to when is the best time to do it after fertilisation. Does it increase or decrease the chance of implantation?

You are doing so well - just take the next step in your treatment a day at a time. The Dr/nurse will explain what is to happen next - if unsure of timing, medication etc just ask them to explain it again to you.

Take care and thinking of you

thank you so much Janet. Yah taking it one day at the time can’t help but stay on the forum to read stories 🙈

your doctor wants to do a frozen transfer probably, this is happening after you had your period but here they should give you a reason why, is because they have higher success rate with frozen transfers or you are not felling well (eg close to OHSS) etc. Or they can do a fresh transfer on day 3 or 5 after egg retrieval where you are not waiting for your period to come. On frozen transfer you have to start with different medication (unless is a natural cycle) like estrogen, something to not ovulate (eg Cetrotide, Orgalutran, synarel etc) and also progesteron to prepare for the transfer. It will be wise to call them back and ask for more details of the protocol chosen, don't leave it like that so will be no regrets afterwards. Good luck 🤞

will do that thank you so much, all was ok till now Iv suddenly developed a rush more like an allergic reaction and didn’t eat anything out of the ordinary. Iv asked if I can have something for allergy that is possibly non drowsy.

It sounds like some clarity is needed here, I agree with Ranchu90 that it would be worth phoning your clinic and getting them to explain the protocol again. Parts of what you've said make me think you're having a fresh transfer but other parts like waiting for bleed make me think you're having a frozen transfer. These are crucial things to clarify. Good luck
