Egg retrieval tomorrow

Egg retrieval tomorrow does anyone have any tips? advice? Iv been told to use 2 cyclogest pessary 400mg a day after retrieval. Been reading a lot on here that this isn’t enough?? I haven’t had a progesterone test... shall I try and demand one tomorrow? Thanks in advance 🙂

For some people, two cyclogest is plenty enough but some people do need a bit extra.

If you’re going to ask for a test, ask to get one on your transfer day. Tomorrow you will be starting your progesterone so a test then would be a little pointless, by your transfer day, they should be able to see if your levels are high enough from the cyclogest.

Hope that helps. If you can get them to test you, it’s always worthwhile!

Good luck for your collection tomorrow I too will have mine tomorrow and was prescribed 400mg evening of collection then 400mg in the morning and evening the following day.

The only tests I had were the ones before IVF started and tested again on second scan as I’m a high candidate for OHSS.

Just wanted to wish you luck for tomorrow, hope you get lots of eggs!! No advice or tips just try and relax, it’s not pleasant but it only takes about 20mins x

Yes I was awake, they gave drugs to relax me but I still felt it x

Oh wow, I had sedation for all or mine and I was out cold! 😴

I thought sedation was standard 🤔

Propofol and midazalam are sedation, I guess its just how you react to it.x

Take paracetamol after egg retrieval do not wait until you will start to fell the discomfort. I regretted for not doing this on my first retrieval as I was in such a bad paint. Do not take ibuprofen especially if you are doing fresh transfer.

2 pessaries is enough, I also had one in the morning and one in the evening. Good luck! 🤞

No idea about progesterone yet as I ended up having a freeze all situation because they found a big polyp in my uterus . Defo ask about it as it seems to crop up a lot on these walls .

Wear comfy clothes and ask for extra pain relief before you leave if you know you will need it. They will look after you very well. It’ll be over before you know it.

Good luck for tomorrow. Make sure u eat fibre. The constipation can be a bit 💩 xxx

I was going to say to up the fibre big time. I had a terrible time with constipation and wish I knew about this before. Best of luck.
